This past Monday, I decided it was time to go back to Balcony since I was in the area after satisfying my KFC craving (the two locations are pretty much neighbors). I didn’t really feel like coffee much so I decided to try their rose lemonade which was pretty good! It was lightly carbonated which was unexpected. The rose flavor wasn’t too intense which was good. It just left a nice floral touch in the aftertaste. Tbh, it actually kinda tasted like lychee to me but I like lychee so all’s well that ends well. I started on The Bear and the Nightingale as you can see from the picture. I unfortunately had to return the book because it was due soon and there was a hold on it so I couldn’t renew it...😅 I’ll just have to get back to this book later. Hehe Oh and if you were curious, I DID manage to clear my reading challenge for 2017~! Yay for 3 consecutive years of clearing reading challenges. I had the yummiest breakfast ever today! Went to an empanada place in Burbank and ordered their two vegan empanadas and a tortilla soup! 😋 it was my first time ever having empanadas and IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! Got the soy chorizo and then the pinto beans & rice. Service was amazing, food was amazing. 5/5 would recommend. They’re pretty to look at too 👀 will def go back next time I’m in Burbank 👌🏼

I sprouted the quinoa for about 3 days before using it in this recipe. Sprouted quinoa is both raw & enzyme rich. The nutrients of grains/seeds are made more bioavailable to the body, meaning it takes less energy for the body to digest them. The sprout occupies a transitional phase in the plant life cycle. Having yet to form roots, the sprout, a new growth from the germinating seed, cannot feed itself from nutrients from the soil so it must rely on the nutrients contained within the seed. These nutrients rest mostly dormant until activated by moisture & germination occurs. Once activated, enzymes begin to utilize nutrients supplies in the dred as a rapid fuel for growth. The plant equivalent of mothers milk, densely packed nutrients in the seed quickly convert the sprout into a plant with leaves. Once grains/seeds are sprouted, proteins are converted to amino acids, and fats into essential fatty acids, the ladder of both much easier to assimilate into the body. *
In addition, sprouts possess a high pH level, aiding to alkaline the body. 🤞
