Today I am grateful for discovering new worlds through the english and dutch languages
Day 2 #soulbalanceyogis is any one-legged balance pose and I chose warrior 3 💪🏼
It’s a very tricky pose because you have to make sure that your hips are aligned! And that’s not as easy as it looks when you need to stay in balance 🙏🏼
Side note: I don’t know why I always separate de pinkie finger from the rest of the hand... even when I try to focus on keeping it stuck together! Impossible! 😅 I am a weirdo hahaha
What I want to share today with all of you is that I sometimes feel I can’t express myself properly in english or it takes to much effort to express what I want. When that happens normally struggle but I try to find a simple way of expressing what I want. My brain works like crazy every time I have to write a post! And I am so grateful for that! And for being part of an international yogi community!

Its not everyday that you meet someone then you clique right away (sure in our case we tested through DMs but still we wouldn’t know how when we meet). I’d like to say we fit right in and not just us, but our hubs as well looked to have some bromances going on 😂 Tho we both laughed sneakily about that, deep down we are glad they find each other’s company blissful. Alhamdulillah and I’m gonna remember yesterday forever iA. We started our day at 730, bought donats and nasi lemak at Opah’s stall. Romi & Gerhard love the sambal then we made way to Tasik Titiwangsa, walked a bit and found a gazebo perfect for Rumi & us to practice under a shade ❤️ we started with a long flow to really warm up the body so that we can do the advanced poses easier then continued with acroyoga, taking pictures featuring the products that we’ve been sponsored for #SoulBalanceYogis#yogachallenge . While Najmy, Gerhard & Rumi were chatting at the other side, Romi & I went through the poses for the challenge and we practiced all of them first before shooting some pics. Then off we went shooting for the challenge in which we decided to have the same background for each day 💚 we managed to get almost all done until it rained then we continued under the gazebo. It rained heavily. I nursed Rumi while Najmy sit behind me so that I could lean on him 😆 while Romi & Gerhard practice acroyoga. Then Romi & I continued taking acroyoga pics for our photo banks 😍 after 6 hours of yoga we then walked back to our car only to find that our car got stuck in between a big lorry beside us and a car behind us. There were two options, to drive to the front and hurt the car’s bumper trynna go up the walker’s pavement or go through the narrow passage at the back. We took the latter. So Gerhard instructed Naj on what to do etc and finally we made it. The guys loved & enjoyed it!! Might have felt as if they were playing vid games 😂 off we went to lunch at KyoChon, dessert at A&W and then three of them knocked themselves out at JumpStreeet while I cared for sleeping Rumi. We then had late dinner at Sany Char Kuey Teow and went home, rabak 💚#detailstoremember#wetookphotosonourownsotheycanchat#bromancestrong 😂

Today we’ll learn the basics of the seated row followed by a #yoga flow and pose to release your back muscles.
Set the weight on the seated row machine and use a close grip bar. Sit with your knees slightly bent and your feet against the footrest, grasp the bar. Pull your shoulders back and bend your elbows until you pull the bar close to your chest. Bring your shoulders forward slowly, flex your back and extend your arms until the bar is close to your feet. Remember to keep your back straight and your chest forward throughout the exercise.
YOGA FLOW: supta dandasana -> salamba sarvangasa (shoulder stand) -> halasana -> apanasana -> paschimottanasana (different variations).
HALASANA : try to bring your hips in line with your shoulders, engage your core don’t collapse on your neck keeping your spine straight , keep your legs active and pulling away from you , feel all the back of your body lengthen. Don’t force it, if you cannot touch the floor with your feet is fine , use your hands to helps you staying in the pose. —

Day 2 of #SoulBalanceYogis#yogachallenge is any one-legged balance 😘. Well I guess a lot knew that I married my high-school sweetheart but maybe not everyone knew how it happened and how I fastened the process right? So here’s the story! I was doing my Bachelors degree in the UK for 3 years and I vowed to myself not to come back to Malaysia during two summer breaks that I had. I was gonna work or do internship or travel and especially visit Africa - which had been my childhood dream to witness life there. So for the first summer break, I decided to go to Ghana and learn more about Shea Butter Community Fair Trade. My parents agreed, my dad said - yes just go. And tawakkal pada Allah that’s all. I paid £180 to the organising committee (UK org) to secure my place. But obviously Najmy didn’t agree - going to Africa alone, although with other volunteers it was just too much for him. So he managed to convince me not to go by telling me how I should just come back home to my family bcse they have been missing me when in fact he was the one who missed me home! 😆 Then I forgo Africa 😪 still I didn’t wanna go back so I signed myself up to do an internship in Nuweiba, Egypt - a place that is quite near Palestine/Israel at @habibaorganicfarm where they grow veges organically there on the desert so I wanted to learn the technology they used to sustain their production. After paying for my accom and buying the flight tix to Sharm El Sheikh only then I told Najmy I was going there and he, being overprotective freaked out like ‘it’s near Israel right? And there’s a Morsi riot happening in Cairo right? No no no no no’. With that said, I intended the money that I paid to the farm being my contribution to them and I came back to Malaysia. On the second year’s summer break, I had a plan too. I wanted to work and gain some experiences. But again he was convincing me to come back. So I told him straight, ‘ok if you really want me to come back this time, make sure you marry me this summer’. And we did. End of story 😆 Sometimes we just gotta do it ladiessssss

My brain was (is) foggy today. I’m finding there’s a fine line between energy given and energy received. We both felt heavyweights on our shoulders so we came, we flowed, we spoke, we made light work of it. At the same time that there’s a ‘we’ there’s a very distinct ‘I’ as well. I think it’s given from both sides, the capacity to hold our own space, and give the other permission to be in theirs. Our friendship is my favourite kind ❤️ @taigenandreayoga
After seeing Goa, there are two places now I miss and crave, being back in Berlin – beautiful India & my beloved home at the Baltic Sea. Oh what do I love the indian heat, people, food, sounds, smells, breeze, and sea. I was super late figuring out what I wanted to do as a career. It wasn’t until I had given a few years to the cannabis industry in Washington that I realized, what I REALLY wanted to do (am called to do) is teach yoga. More specifically, to guide people to their own inner light through yoga and meditation. Although it’s a long process to teaching full time, im on the way AND working on my 300 hour teacher training to add to my 200 hour. At that point, I can start teaching people to be teachers! That and retreats is what I really look forward to. Also, getting my meditation instructor certification. I use mindfulness and meditation a lot already and would love to learn more to share. ⠀
The whole thing is just mind blowing, though. I never thought I’d find a path that resonated so deeply with my inner self. This is what sets my soul on fire and I’m so grateful to have found it. What is your career and why are you grateful for it? Lemme know I’m the comments I’d love to know 👇🏼⠀

Sarvangasana is a Sanskrit word which comprises ‘Sarv means Entire’; Anga means body parts and Asana means pose. It is one of the few yoga poses that stimulates and regulates the entire body i.e. show benefits from toes to fingers. Sarvangasana is known for many important health benefits. The shoulder Stand pose is worked well for the different internal organs of the body and also smoothes the functions of these sensitive organs. Because of its significant roles in the management and preventions of diseases and disorders, the yogasana is known as ‘Mother Of Asanas’. It is one the greatest boons conferred to the humanity by our ancient saints and sages. Since the mother is the harbinger of harmony and happiness at home, in the same way Sarvangasana is strived for harmony and happiness for the body. After learning its technique properly, it is recommended that the Sadhak (practitioner) should perform it every day to make oneself fit and healthy.

I have been using essential oils for the past few months and I have to say...it’s been a life changer.
Let’s be real. The time of the month sucks. We pop some ibuprofen and maybe it helps or not. We use the heating pad but it just makes our hot flashes worse.
Not anymore. Not for me. I have been using peppermint essential oil for the past few months for several different reasons. One is to sleep. Another to clear the airway in my nose to my lungs. To alleviate the pain from stomach aches. And lastly, to cure period cramps. Yes. Cramps. It works 100% for me. I’m serious. Peppermint essential oil applied to skin feels like an icy hot sensation. In fact while typing this, I had just applied some to my lower back and belly. 2-3 drops and I’m cured. I no longer feel any pain. In fact, I feel much better.

We should be thankful everyday right? Or at least that’s what they say. And we should share memories w/ family outside of holidays. While some people cherish this holiday & others hate it, I see both. I see the insane nature of celebrating while killing millions of animals & I see the disrespect & injustice of a holiday masking the mass slaughter of Native Americans. I also see families together & having fun. But I understand why people boycott it & are angry. And certainly I am thankful every single day or I try to be, to acknowledge why I am thankful. It’s hard not to be when you are so fortunate & loved. Yet it also makes others sad realities even harsher. Knowing there are humans & non humans who suffer so immensely. I want to be a better person & to make wiser choices to lessen suffering. I want others to do the same. To look at their choices & to see where they can do better. To change their lifestyles to match their true self & ethics. I wanted to share some things I am working on & hope you share yours w/ me! I want to waste less food & eat what we have instead of constantly going to the grocery store. I want to be more mindful of packaging & plastic use. I want to know where my clothes come from & to support ethical companies. I want to be more compassionate & supportive of people who don’t align w/ my world or lifestyle & to be more open minded w/ ideas & thoughts that make me feel uncomfortable or challenge my way of thinking. I want to be a better partner to Keegan & add more love & affection to our lives. I want to accept people into my life & not push them away or avoid social interactions. I want to spread joy & happiness while also dropping massive truth bombs & some sass here & there. To name a few.! AND When I say I love you, I mean it. I really do. I have so much love in this body of mine that it never runs out. 💛🤗💜💁🏼😘❤️

11/21/17 - I said YES to the love of my life - @houstonmcleod I love you more than you will ever know. You took me back to the place where we had our first date... where our story all began and asked me to spend the rest of your life with you as your wife. Restorative reclining big toe pose with strap aka Hammock Pose
Benefit : Gentle hamstring and neck stretch. This pose helps you to feel relaxed and grounded. To get the most benefits from this pose, make sure your lower back is lengthened and rested on the mat while keeping your shoulders and neck relaxed. .
🔹Begin by making a large loop with your yoga strap. ( Note that I'm using at least a 2.5m or 3.2 m yoga strap) . .
🔹Lie on your back and lift your right leg through the loop and place the belt across the ball of your foot. .
🔹Slip the other end around the back of your head, which will float above the ground as if in a hammock, then straighten your leg. .
🔹Adjust the length of the strap so the weight of your head keeps it taut. It also keeps your top leg from feeling strained. .
🔹When correctly aligned there is a balance between top leg and head where both are supported and relaxed. .
🔹Deepen the stretch by pressing into your left foot, which will move your right thigh bone back in the socket. .
🔴 Avoid this pose if you have sciatica , hip or neck injury. .

I have so much to be grateful for...but I dont need a special day, gratitude is a daily practice. I remember one day, one of my teacher said if you are coming to a 2h yoga class on a Thursday at 2pm, chances are that you are privileged. True that. We all need daily reminders, and even though this funny holiday turns out to be an over consomption galore it is also a great way to celebrate community and family.
Everyday I am grateful for my yoga practice, as a forever student & as a teacher; that keeps me somewhat sane and grounded. Super grateful for new opportunities and the trust I am honored to receive. Be careful for what you wish for, it might happen, way before you think it would! 😅 Teaching at @wanderlusthlwd tomorrow Flow + Soul revival 2pm!

After 8 months of hanging out and talking everyday all three of us have finally had the chance to come together at the same time.
