What are the simple little things that make you smile?
For an easy de-stress mindhack (aka "way to trick your brain to make it better"), try making a list of everything you can think of that you enjoy (*especially* the things that seem small or trivial, or that we take for granted-there are so many!) You can even practice this as you're going to sleep at night (like counting sheep:) This will help you to more easily bring those things to mind when you find yourself in a negative mindset, or just in need of a little boost. Practicing positive habits of thought increases dopamine (happy hormones) and lowers cortisol (stress hormones), making you healthier overall, as well as better equipped to deal with any situation. This is a simple practice that gets you on the path to changing your brain for the better by redirecting your mind, which over time builds neural pathways toward positive thought, and allows pathways toward negative thought to starve from neglect.
