In this first of three games in eight days Ottawa Fury FC played to a 1-1 draw with Louisville City FC under a sweltering 32 degrees at TD Place extending their unbeaten streak to five games. It would be George Davis IV who opened the scoring for Louisville City FC in the 56th minute, while substitute Nick DePuy leveled the score for Ottawa in the 68th minute, earning another crucial point for Fury FC, who are looking to break into the top eight with four games remaining.
Looking like a team full of confidence, Fury FC cranked up the heat early on, applying plenty of pressure in the opening stages of the game. Inside the opening half hour, Ottawa gained chances from Andrae Campbell and AdonijahReid, but neither was able to find the target.
Campbell also came up big defensively for Fury FC making a timely challenge on Luke Spencer in the 36th minute to thwart the breakaway opportunity and limited the Louisville striker to a soft shot on goal. De Guzman turned to his bench in the 61st minute, bringing on Carl Haworth who, prior to the game, was honoured for playing his 100th match with the club two weeks ago in Rochester. Nick DePuy, who joined the club on loan from Montreal Minutes later, a determined run from Jon Barden down the right side earned him space inside the penalty area. He picked out Carl Haworth whose one-timed effort was denied by DePuy volleyed home the rebound to pull Ottawa level. #furyfc#ottawafury#myottawa#mycity#igersottawa#uslsoccer#professionalsoccer#photoflashjr#sportsnews#igersontario#gatineau#outaouais#loveottawa#tdplace#loucityfc#LouCity#ottvlou #

🎼🎭 Part of @apt613's review:
"One of the strongest points is the music in general, performed live by a band situated behind the actors. The choice of location was ideal; the band is an integral part of the show, and their abilities highlighted an exceptional piece of work by #AmielGladstone and #VedaHille , the writers of the musical. Not only is this musical catchy and fun, it’s actually pretty ambitious musically. Fans of musical theatre will know that that’s not necessarily typical.
"The comparisons will be made to Hamilton for the degree to which the lyrics bridge a gap between the past (“it’s Russia, it’s winter, it’s cold”) and a tongue in cheek, self-referential style that owes much to the writing of more recent Disney films. The music is structured as an album, or perhaps a rock opera, with each thought or scene representing a song. The strength of this is that we are treated to a new musical idea every 3 or 4 minutes, complete with verse, chorus, and hooks aplenty.
"All of the performers rise to the challenge, particularly Hailey Gillis, whose portrayal of Tatyana, the title character’s love interest, was so captivating that she stole every scene she was in. Her voice and expressiveness were evocative and added a layer of richness to the character that would otherwise not be there."
