As I get older, I have to look at injuries as little gifts... whether it be a cyst in my hand from lifting telling me to I need to work on forearm strength or a random stupid sprained toe that forces me to focus on upper body improvements I can work on while being forced to “rest” and not dance.... I appreciate watching people’s journeys having been on such a rollercoaster ride of my own..... keeping myself accountable via studying my form I’m able to see where I need make improvements that I was unaware of.... my right bicep is stronger than my left which kicks off the domino effect of overcompensation and asymmetry in my form... I again see this dominance from the back as I work on shoulder mobility/strength in my #skinthecat .... lots of improvements to be made but grateful and blessed for another day of #movingmeditation ... wider grip pull-ups weren’t possible for me earlier this year... improvement through optimistic belief feels good 🙏🏼💓
Retrying #OperationGrowThePeach 🍑💙. Because ya girl has such a flat booty, this angle and leggings make it look better
In love with these @gymshark Flex Leggings btw. If you don’t like a thinner material they might not be your favorite. .
But they contour just right and they aren’t meant to be high rise, but they stay up pretty well.
It’s real : more women are working out to prepare for pregnancy. And I love it. Exercising specifically to make GETTING pregnant easier, as well as to improve your actual pregnancy experience and even to make delivery easier is definitely growing in popularity and acknowledgment. IT’S ABOUT TIME! Even the latest research confirms the facts. In a recent article in Shape Magazine that highlights one of my nearest & dearest, Brooke Cates and @thebloommethod, they describe the reasoning like this: “Think of pregnancy like a running a marathon. You wouldn't run a marathon without training, so why would you go into the most physically taxing event of your life without conditioning your mind and body for it first.” #truth @thebloommethod techniques and focus on the core is revolutionizing the pre + postnatal fitness world. In regards to how exercise makes getting pregnant easier : it increases blood flow and circulation to the ovaries and uterus, therefore improving egg health and uterine health, while also keeping our weight levels in an optimal range (which we know affects fertility). AND a new study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, showed that women who exercised before pregnancy had a lower rate of pain around the joints and ligaments of the pelvis during pregnancy than women who didn't. Even more reason to go move your body in ways that you LOVE!
13 Days of Ritual Day 2: Herbal infusions and how spirit gets our attention. In the wee hours I made some seasonal adjustments to today’s practice in the Wild Soul School classroom and remembered how much I love the simple power of infusions, plant medicine, ritual magic. I’m still in transit but when I land I’ll be posting my daily practices and deepening my relationship with the sacred systems of plant, water, air, sun in reverence for their nourishment. A suggestion was made to tag these #13daysofritual ...would you please? Your practices are so beautiful, and it heartens me to see what you share.
Also ruminating today on my beloved body and how hard it has worked to convey spirit messages. Like trust. Like root. Give your body some extra love today. Give your whole sacred self love and more love. To the wholeness we say we are listening, we love you, we’re here.

People ask me all the time, 'Wow, you're a vegan? What do you eat?' I then reply, 'A lot!' 😜 Plant based eating is so plentiful, and fun! And colorful!! Give it a try, even if only for a day here and there. I love my left over veggies from @realfooddaily #rfd Paul and his beautiful daughter Adeline are the new owners and I just adore them. I am so grateful that the integrity of this food is being honored as the business changed hands. Ann Gentry did an amazing job with this company and I am thrilled it is still with us after all this time. I have been eating their delicious food for the past 24 years and I will continue to do so. All I ask is you PLEASE open a location in Studio City!! 😍😍 Here is to another 24, and more!!! #plantbased#vegan#organic#healthy#plantbasedgirl#respectyourbody#loveyourbody#eatwell#livewell#yummy#kale#broccoli#yams#blackbeans#chilis#almondtortillas @sietefoods 💛💛💛
My first face to face Friday! Good god... haha.
I remember taking the picture 📸 on the left. I didn’t feel good that day (hence the hair/outfit/half smile/puffy eyes) but I definitely remember feeling worse after seeing 👀 this picture. It put me in such a bad mood.
The picture on the right was taken recently at a concert 💃🏻🎶. I remember being shocked 😲 that it only took one try to get a photo that I felt good in. Usually, I make people take multiple so that I can pick out the one I look the least terrible in.
It’s incredible how motivating picture comparisons are. I just imagine doing another one in a couple months and seeing the growth yet to happen 👍🏼😊
It feels so good to no longer use exercise as a means of punishment or control over my body. Long gone are the days of slogging it out on the treadmill cos I thought I ate too much the day before. Now? It’s all about being strong and getting those endorphins! I may not look like the poster girl for fitness but I’m in my own race and my goals are no-ones but my own 🙌🏼💥 @fernwoodfitness #fernwoodfitness
I'm all for enjoying what you eat and making the most of life. And I am also all for eating healthy and feeding your body well.
Doing the two at the same time is not at all hard.
I'd say most of the time I eat pretty well for myself - not perfectly but I do quite alright.
I used to think enjoying yourself means eating anything and everything you want all the time (and I guess later dealing with bloating and feeling lazy and sometimes being in pain for a bit)
Now I can go out and eat amazing meals that I crave and I know they're still so good for me. I'm feeding my body and my soul and not hurting myself in the process.
Sometimes I need a few reminders, but it's a better way of life 👌🏾
Plus - who wouldn't love these pancakes!
Happy Friday!!! 🎉 I went to the gym during a&e’s first nap today. As I was putting on my shoes I almost took them off and went upstairs to get in bed because I was tired, but I kept tying them and got my 🍑 out the door! I did an arm workout that @kelseywells posted and it felt really good to get it done!! Have a lovely weekend!!! ♥️
When was the last time you THANKED your body? For what it does for you every damn day. I'm blessed to be able to get 7 hours of sleep each night, wake up, drive to the gym, stream my program of choice, and head to a job 💕
I'm thanking my body for pumping blood, for building strength, for simply existing in this world 🌎 None of this has to do with a number on a scale, and taking time to care for your health & wellness will never be a waste of time ☺️ #mindbodysoul
I think its natural to look to others for what to do, we often learn from the example of those who lead us, and who we look up to. ☝And its a good strategy, because success leaves clues, so we should be paying attention to those who are living the kind of lives that we are striving to live! 😎
But I think that looking to others often leads to comparing ourselves to them and I think thats where we go wrong. 🚫
Each one of us has a different life, we've gone through different experiences to make us who we are. Not one of us lives the exact same as any one else, so comparing our path to someone else's gives a skewed perspective because its never going to match up perfectly.
The truth is that if you're taking actions to live the life you want to live, to love who you want to love, to the things that make you happy, then you're doing pretty fucking good. 👌
And stresses may come your way, you will be challenged, and you'll be presented with opportunities to grow. But you have made it through all of your struggles so far. You have made it through every bad day, every traffic jam, hospital visit, missed deadline, stupid drunk decision. You've made it through birth and through the loss of loved ones. You've come out on the other side of every low point thus far. And if you can make it through all of that you can make it through whatever comes next. 💪
Instead of comparing yourself to others, focus on the good things you've done or the amazing qualities you have no matter how big or small. Celebrate the little successes because even small victories are still victories! 🎉🎊 You are beautiful and unique exactly the way you are, so shine bright, baby!
