I wish I had ONE picture that could sum up the past 4 days but I don't, so here are ten that are on my phone. To pull away from real life for an extended weekend and get away with a sweet friend into God's amazing creation (here's looking at you, #LakeMichigan !) has been a truly deep healing. This trip had been established 6ish months ago and when my mom got sick, I got worried. For a little bit, when we thought she would make it, we knew we were looking at extended care and I didn't know if I would be able to make this trip. Instead, this trip healed so many broken pieces of my heart. I needed to laugh. To cry. To serve and to be served. To love and to be loved. To sing annoyingly. To just...be. You never know how hard it is to lose a parent until you've lost a parent. It changes you. It hurts you. It leaves a gap in your soul that never gets filled, you just learn to navigate life around it. Funny story though. The RV's name was Thor. He stuck out like a sore thumb EVERYwhere we went. So, every time we were walking to him, we would always ask: #WheresThor because he was always the easiest vehicle to spot. And our last night camping, we literally had an entire side of the camp grounds to ourselves. That's good considering we pulled up when it was dark and accidentally parked in the wrong lot. #HereIsToNewBeginningsAndFreshStarts#22M#FormerRoommateShenanigans#M22Life
