"Stenciled in stitch by stitch like crisscrossed promises, we make contractual agreements to remain unique in the midst of familiar faces and unfamiliar places...each pattern freely articulating what it means to be us.
To be us is to be Africa and we put her on our backs as a daily reminder of the cryptic sacred lives that we own." #FariHara#HeritageCollection#HeritageVests
Velvet.... had a conversation with a customer about “Pile Up” vs “Pile Down”. Imagine the curtains hanging up & running you fingers down them. If your fingers run against the fabric fibres this is “Pile Up”. We make curtains Pile Up as standard as we’re of the school of thought that this allows the fibres to fall backwards with gravity which causes the velvet to “bloom” and give off its unique light-reflecting lustre. If you run your fingers down your imaginary curtain and it’s smooth, running with the fibres, this is “Pile Down”. There is a school of thought that says this is superior. It’s all a matter of choice, and how you feel about the colour... play with your velvet swatch to see which suits you! 💚
