Here's my raising the banner instead of flag for #memorialday 🇺🇸 I'm loving this tin banner from #targetdollarspot Looking forward to some grilling outside tomorrow for my birthday. I'm not as old as the number of stars on the flag but boy I do wish time would slow down, it's already rolling down hill. Hope you all enjoy this day of remembrance. ❤️🇺🇸💙
I was tagged yesterday by sweet Rochelle at @turquoise_lifestyle for #tuesdaybluesdaydecor and didn't get a chance to play along in time (sorry, Rochelle!), but I still wanted to share. I love any shade of blue in my Decor and my spring mantel is no exception. 💙💙💙

Pleasant zzzzzs friends. Tomorrow I'm picking up a new plant for the house. It's a yucca plant! If you have one, please tag me to your pic. I'd love to see it and may include yours on a future blog post about decorating with yucca plants🌱!
A basket of carved flowers for #MantelMonday , from the southeast, or "Britannia's," bedroom on the second floor (seen on every tour). The last Peter owner, Armistead 3rd, wrote of it, "the southeast bedroom ... I suppose, has been the
master bedroom ever since the central part [of the house] was finished. It must have been occupied by Thomas and Martha Peter; it was occupied by my great-grandmother Britannia Kennon, by my father and mother, and by Carol and myself. My first memory of this room is coming up to see my great-grandmother sitting over by the window, in the large wing chair... In those days there was a stove in the chimney. Charles Taylor, the gardener, who served this place faithfully until after I was married, but was then a young ... man of only around twenty-odd years, would come up every so often and take away the ashes and put coal on the fire to keep the room warm. There was only a hot-air furnace in the house at that time, with one register that came up into the hall, which did not do the room here very much good."
Easter was very nice yesterday. We went non- traditional. We celebrated at a near by park. This display is at my sister's house and I love it. Especially that the window and frame came out of her barn. #vignette#farmhouse#homedecor#mantelmonday#decor
