Together with people from 71 countries, we are at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim this week, learning and sharing about how to create excellence in all aspects of life.
Today Mark Wahlberg talked on many topics. All of the insights he shared illustrated what a hard-working, dedicated, driven, humble person he is. His spiritual life anchors and guides him and that was something that I really connected with.
Here are some quote from his talk today:
On acting success: "Find your niche. Put the work in, make it happen." On how to keep momentum going: "I don't take a day off. Once you have momentum on your side, it's hard to stop you. Capitalise on it. Keep stepping on the gas." On family: "If I'm not working, I'm at home. The toughest thing is to make sure I see the kids. It's a tough balance, but it's the most important thing." On alkaline water: "My recovery time was cut in half. I went to a whole other level. We want to educate the consumer on drinking alkaline water." What makes a great public speaker? "Those who speak from the heart. When you speak from the heart it connects so much more with the audience." #megasuccess#jtfoxx
The Other Guys:
-Released: August 6th 2010
-Starring: Will Ferrell (Allen Gamble), Mark Wahlberg (Terry Hoitz), Michael Keaton (Gene Mauch)
-Box Office (US$): 119,000,000$
-Budget (US$): 100,000,000$
-After 2 heroes of New York have an accident, New York is in need of another hero so they try not to call on these other guys.
-This movie like many other comedies was not taken for what it was by critics and to some extent, audiences. If anyone came in here expecting genius material that would have you questioning the genius behind it after the film but laughing your ass off in the film, you would be disappointed. This is a Will Ferrell movie and thats what you get, 2 or 3 ridiculous freak outs that even after so many times of witnessing them, are still hilarious and you get slapstick comedy that of course, hits and misses. The acting isn’t something to be concerned about since it is a good cop bad cop comedy thats been done a million times before. Mark Wahlberg is a terrible in the movie from an acting point of view but as the film goes in, writer Adam McKay starts to make fun of how angry an emotionless Mark really is and it works. Ferrell is the same as always, he has moments that make you burst out laughing and then he’s got other moments that you say to yourself “Why is that there?”. The cops that heckle the duo that we are rooting for are such assholes the mov8e makes fun of how ridiculous it is. However it does seem unrealistic that for how aggressive Terry is that he has not gotten arrested for beating the shit out of them. The subplot of Gene is well put together and every time he is on screen I had at least one chuckle. The movie doesn’t break any grounds but is at the top of Ferrells comedic repertoire.
-Verdict: 7.5/10 and if you have a little and want to laugh, you should the movie. #markwahlberg#willferrell#michaelkeaton#moviereview#theotherguys
