I have partnered up with my amazing teacher and friend, and past Meta yoga teacher @amberdaniellecook to bring 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Trainings to areas currently underserved with yoga. I know in this day and age, it’s hard to believe there are areas left that don’t have yoga studios or even yoga teachers. Our first stop is my hometown Maysville, KY, second is Amber’s, Flint, Michigan. I cannot believe that I let myself go the way I did, that I didn’t realize I was a chubby lil lady at one point in my life, that I’ve come as far as I have. I certainly didn’t do it on my own but rather surrounded myself with people who supported me and pushed me and kept cheering me on when I didn’t want to move forward. I have goals to meet this year and I cannot wait to reach them, exceed them, and set new ones. How do I keep my New Years Resolution this year?
1) Make changes to your behavior. Changing your routine can bring different results. Instead of trying the same thing over and over again, expecting a different outcome, people need to modify their behaviors.
2) Define Your Goals.
Be specific. Do not just say I want to lose weight. Figure out how many pounds you need to lose. Make a timeline. Be realistic.
3) Track your progress.
A calendar, or a calendar app, is a handy tool you can use to track your goals.
4) Reward small achievements. Recognize the accomplishment and perhaps do something nice for yourself. This will help keep you focused and excited about the overall goal.
5) Make it public.
When individuals announce their goals on social media, to their families or in the workplace, they are being held accountable by those closest to them.
