I was asked for what our meal plans look like and if I weekly, bi-weekly or monthly meal plan. I grocery shop every Friday and plan for Friday through the next Thursday. We don't always stick to it but we try. This is for next week! #thehousewifechef#mealplanning#makesmylifeeasier
My kids LOVE meatloaf, but I don't make it often (don't know why, because it's not hard) and I've got a gluten and dairy free version that works. Last night they asked for meatloaf, with mash (also dairy free). So that's what we had! I'm going to be doing a whole batch of cooking and freezing next week so the first week after my knee op the husband doesn't have to worry to much (although he can and does cook) and meatloaf will be on the list. It would have been really EASY to skip working out today. We have a long drive back to Wisconsin BUT my new challenge group started this morning and everyone is KICKING BUTT so I had to too!!! Plus LOOK AT OUR WORKOUT PAD!!! I could get used to this!

💥HOW TO END DIET SABOTAGE💥
📍Ah, yes. Diet sabotage. An issue we've all struggled with at some point or another. What makes diet sabotage so hard is that there's both an upside (YAY! Yummy calories!) and a downside (TOO MANY yummy calories to lose fat).
📍Today, let's dig into a few common self-sabotaging behaviors and what we can do to put an end to this self-destructive cycle.
1️⃣ Prevent overeating on the weekends. It isn’t hard to undo a week of dieting with just a few indulgences over the weekend. Your weight is unlikely to drop if you’re perpetually taking two steps forward and two steps back.
🙌🏼 Save a few calories during the week to spend on the weekend. Be aware and know the calorie content of your indulgences.
2️⃣ Avoid rewarding exercise with food. Many people fool themselves into thinking they’ve burned off a lot more calories than they actually have, and use that as an excuse to indulge.
🙌🏼 Be aware of how many calories you actually burn when you exercise and compare that to the calories you’re tempted to take in afterwards.
3️⃣ Don't let one dietary slip-up ruin your entire day. No sense in blowing out the three other tires by going nuts for the rest of the day. Just do your best to get back on track at your next meal.
🙌🏼 You can’t change what you’ve already done, but you certainly have control over what you do next. If you’ve done some unplanned eating, put it behind you. Just get yourself back on track at your next meal.
4️⃣ Give new habits time to get established. It can take weeks for new habits to take hold. But if you don’t acknowledge that, you might give up after just a few days and call yourself a failure.
🙌🏼 Make sure that the new habit you’re trying to establish is reasonable. Acknowledge that changing behavior is a process, and give yourself permission to be imperfect.

Yum yum yum🤗 Prepped slow cooker steel cut oats with banana, blueberries, coconut and quinoa!
When I make oatmeal I portion it out for the week using a muffin pan. Once the oatmeal is cooked you just have to scoop it into the muffin cups and place the pan in your freezer 🤗 Then once frozen you just scoop them out and place in baggies or tupperware for the week.
RECIPE: 🔹3 bananas (medium ripe) 🔹1 ½ cups frozen blueberries 🔹1 ½ cups steel cut oats 🔹2 cups unsweetened coconut milk 🔹1/4 cup pure organic maple syrup 🔹1/2 cup quinoa 🔹1 two cinnamon 🔹1/2 tsp sea salt 🔹6 cups water 🔹1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
Spray your slow cooker with cooking spray. Add in all of the ingredients. Cook on low for 5 hours. Stir well when done. Meal plan for the week – check! I know firsthand, meal planning can seem like such an undertaking. But I’ve found that when I fail to plan our meals for the week, I’m planning to slip up on eating well.
So how do you tackle meal planning without it seeming like a chore?
➕Make it fun! Enjoy spending time perusing Pinterest and reading cookbooks. Have fun looking through recipes for inspiration and ideas.
➕Keep it simple! I created this meal planning sheet for the ladies in the #transforminghistempletribe to help with meal planning. Our meals for the week fit onto one page and the grocery list section on the side makes our grocery shopping more efficient.
➕Try it out for a week and write down all of the benefits you’ve had from sticking to a plan – whether it’s spending less at the grocery store, feeling better about your food choices, or not feeling overwhelmed creating a dinner menu after work. Reflect on these benefits next time you feel that meal planning is a chore to keep you encouraged.
➕Remember that planning to fuel your body with nourishing foods will help to promote longevity and health.

I have completely fallen out of early morning workouts and I miss them!
Between the kids, back issues and the lack of momentum, I have zero desire to bounce out of bed and get it done like I used to.
On the plus side, I am still working out...just at a different time. I'm still getting results since I've been paying extra close attention to my nutrition. I'm also getting more sleep 😉!!! So for this week and the holiday I'm going to cut myself some slack. I'm gonna do what feels good and roll with it. But I do plan to get back into my old routine and would love some company in doing so next month!

How hearty was your breakfast today? Mine was beyond amazing! You can really never go wrong with a simple #Pinoy#breakfast . I had my fried #rice with very crispy #dilis , fresh tomatoes and our vinegar and garlic #sawsawan that's been soaked for weeks! My mouth is literally watering just talking about this! Of course, we had some scrambled #eggs on the side but for this one, I actually scrambled it directly on the pan which resulted to a fluffier version. 😋🌞🍳

I love mine just like this, but Brian will add some cold meat or tuna, to increase the protein content 😊😊 Makes it so much easier in the morning to get up and going without having to rush to prepare lunch!! It's definitely a meal prep win!! ✨
Trying to beat the winter blues, aches and sniffles so I had a warm spiced veggie broth with poached chicken, veg and barley. Amongst other spices, I used turmeric for being an all round wonder spice as well as coriander seeds as it helps to remove and flush out fevers and colds 💪🏼
