My kids LOVE meatloaf, but I don't make it often (don't know why, because it's not hard) and I've got a gluten and dairy free version that works. Last night they asked for meatloaf, with mash (also dairy free). So that's what we had! I'm going to be doing a whole batch of cooking and freezing next week so the first week after my knee op the husband doesn't have to worry to much (although he can and does cook) and meatloaf will be on the list. What easy, economical meals do you have for "needs must" times? #ig_bettertogether

Yum yum yum๐Ÿค— Prepped slow cooker steel cut oats with banana, blueberries, coconut and quinoa!

When I make oatmeal I portion it out for the week using a muffin pan. Once the oatmeal is cooked you just have to scoop it into the muffin cups and place the pan in your freezer ๐Ÿค— Then once frozen you just scoop them out and place in baggies or tupperware for the week.

RECIPE: ๐Ÿ”น3 bananas (medium ripe) ๐Ÿ”น1 ยฝ cups frozen blueberries ๐Ÿ”น1 ยฝ cups steel cut oats ๐Ÿ”น2 cups unsweetened coconut milk ๐Ÿ”น1/4 cup pure organic maple syrup ๐Ÿ”น1/2 cup quinoa ๐Ÿ”น1 two cinnamon ๐Ÿ”น1/2 tsp sea salt ๐Ÿ”น6 cups water ๐Ÿ”น1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut

I have completely fallen out of early morning workouts and I miss them!

Between the kids, back issues and the lack of momentum, I have zero desire to bounce out of bed and get it done like I used to.

On the plus side, I am still working out...just at a different time.  I'm still getting results since I've been paying extra close attention to my nutrition.  I'm also getting more sleep ๐Ÿ˜‰!!! So for this week and the holiday I'm going to cut myself some slack.  I'm gonna do what feels good and roll with it.  But I do plan to get back into my old routine and would love some company in doing so next month!

How the presence of sugar and milk is not making you fat, but the size of your crockery is -

1) We love moving to the Western side of everything. Mom still drinks her tea in a tiny cup (size of a traditional cutting) and I'd prefer having it in a mug - not realising it is bigger and wider and we consume double the quantity of a beverage which inevitably adds to daily calories - your favourite word. (and we never realise that instead of cutting sugar and milk from our tea, why not have it in the size that it was always suppose to be contained in, #SmallQty = #LowCal automatically) .
2) The West drinks water based caffeine drinks - Green tea/ Black coffee and hence the size of mug works for them. Ours is richer with the fat from milk etc, so we show "bravery" and eliminate it completely from our diet and then wonder why bones are weakening! #EatDontDelete .
