TBT ... 2 days out from my last show . Sitting here thinking of leaner days. Off season has had a rough start with some serious shoulder and bicep issues that mean I can't use my right arm for 8 weeks. My motivation is sky high but I'm so limited in what I can perform. Need to keep reminding myself the rest is for the greater good and longevity if I want to keep growing and getting better long term . I've convinced myself it's my body's way of telling me that it's time to get my legs looking like tree stumps. Here's hoping my recovery is fast and I'll be back doing what i love asap! 💪😷😷

This is my superfood! A coconut can be used or consumed in many ways. And coconut is a great natural anti-fungal fruit to eat and is amazing at fighting Candida!

-Unlike other types of saturated fat, which are made up of long chain fatty acids, most of the fat in coconut is a medium chain fatty acid, which do not contribute to high cholesterol as long chains do.
-1 cup of meat contains 20% of your recommended daily fiber intake!

Medium-chain fatty acids contains caprylic, lauric and capric acid. These are considered anitigungal!
Lauric acid is known to reduce candida, fight bacteria and create a hostile environment for viruses.

Today is the TWO year anniversary of the day I said YES to changing my lifestyle for the better. 🙌🏼 Two years later and I'm still using the same tools and support system that helped me lose weight and learn to love myself. 
Your health journey isn't going to be linear, it's a roller coaster. Sometimes you're progressing quickly, and sometimes it seems like you take two steps forward and one foot back. The first picture is two years ago at my highest weight, the middle is at my leanest when I was following a pretty strict workout/nutrition routine, and the third is my "before" picture from a few months ago. 
I don't base my self worth from these photos, but it makes me so proud to see how far I've come. They represent my commitment, dedication, and my hard work to change the things I didn't like in myself and my life. 
I'm finally learning to love the JOURNEY, not just chase the destination/goal. 
So, here's to being a little bit better every day! 🙏🏼💕

New blog post- Liz’s version of meal prep! As Melissa said, we approach meal prepping differently (Liz = less regimented and Type A 😂, sticks to more basic recipes). Her breakfast this week is Melissa’s recipe for Chia Oatmeal (recipe coming soon!) and Spinach Salad with Salmon Cakes 💁🏼

RD tip: Use a green base! You can add pretty much anything to a bed of greens and it will still taste great. This allows you to get your added greens in for the day while still enjoying whatever you’re in the mood for! (Shoutout to @djblatner for this tip!).

Did you know you can freeze avocado?  Cut open, remove pit, while in peel cut into pieces, scoop out and put into plastic storage bags!  Great for smoothies or guacamole down the road.

Donuts and fat loss. People didn’t think it was possible.

They thought that if you ate foods that were “unhealthy” lists, you would get fat.
😕
They thought that unless you at chicken breast and asparagus and it had no flavor, you would never get lean.
😖
The only way to get shredded and to get strong is to eat cardboard tasting food and deprive yourself.

They were all wrong. The purpose of this post is not to tell you to go eat donuts. It’s not to tell you to become a “macro” or “calorie” counting freak who needs to measure every drop of ketchup.

The purpose is to tell you that you do not need to deprive yourself of foods you enjoy. That there is no moral value to food. Simply an amount of calories, an amount of carbs/fats/proteins, and an amount of vitamins and minerals.

You can fit in the things you like even into to small calorie limits. The above example is a lot of food. You see, this was the basis of my eating for the last 5 weeks where I did a mini cut and went from 168 to 151. I also went from looking like I didn’t workout to being shredded. And no this is not my first time. And no this is not because I’m special. It’s because I understand how nutrition actually works and I follow its rules.

If you simply understand that a reasonable human needs about 1200-2200 calories per day depending on how big you are and how active you are and how strong you are, you can eat anything you want to reach those calories and never get fat.

Simple.

Like I love a donut. And I’ll have a donut any time I feel like it. And I never feel guilty. And I don’t count green leafy calories because I couldn’t possibly eat enough to even register. And if I’m off by a hundred calories…who cares.

My goal is that you remove all the negative feelings and thoughts around food. It’s to teach you to eat like an adult. It’s to maximize health, look fucking amazing, enjoy life, and enjoy food.

We can do it. Tag a friend who could use the mindset gains.
