6/21/2017 lunch: This is the famed Superiority Burger in NYC 🍔🗽 I read multiple sources claiming it is "the best burger in the world." That's right, not even best VEGAN burger just straight up BEST BURGER. Well I can disprove that claim because it's not even the best burger I've ever had and I'm nowhere near eating all the vegan burgers in the world and I'll certainly never eat any of the nonvegan ones 🤣 It wasn't bad but it's definitely one of those vegan burgers that's trying to imitate a fast food burger like a Big Mac or Whopper. I've never had a real burger in my life so I don't need my vegetables to pretend they're meat, but I could see how a former meat eater would really love this. For me, I'd rather have a burger loaded with avocado and other vegetables behaving as vegetables. 😉 Glad to have tried it though.
Vegan BBQ - barbecued potatoes are my new favourite thing!😍😋 ...the Asda vegan quarter pounders are really good (but not as good as the original and best Linda Mc ones though) and the #accidentallyvegan garlic bread from the 'Parc market' is really really good😋😋😋 as is the mustard and dill sauce I also picked up from there YUM!!!
Calling all #vegetarians out there! -
You've got to try my awesome high protein sweet potato & chickpea burger topped with spinach, avocado & tomato mayo! -
Form the burger by mixing up:
Fry with @lucybeecoconut oil for 5 mins each side...
Then grab some spinach, a wholegrain bun, mash up 1/2 an avocado & add a drop of ketchup to Greek yogurt for the mayo!
Fantastic protein levels and I'll tell you what... it's so tasty! 👊🍠🍔👀
My pre-workout smoothie (@packdco Energy) and reflection time on a slow and easy Saturday. I connected so much to @busyphilipps workout post. "My goal is to feel the best I can in my body and my brain for the rest of my life." Sooo much YES ✨✨
@Regrann from @meatfree - A number of mainstream medical groups now endorse vegetarian (or part-vegetarian) diets, including the American Cancer Society, the American Institute for Cancer Research, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and, over protests from the meat industry, the USDA group that issues dietary guidelines. In 2014, the American College of Cardiology elected its first ever vegan president, Dr. Kim A. Williams.
In 2013, Kaiser Permanente, the nation’s largest healthcare network, asked its physicians to suggest a plant-based diet to their patients. Just this week, the American Medical Association passed a resolution recommending that hospitals offer patients non-meat meals. James Loomis, an internist who directs the Barnard Medical Center in Washington, D.C. said: "I am being invited to speak about [the plant-based diet] at mainstream medical conferences about diabetes and heart diseases. That never would have happened five years ago.”
There is plenty of science to back up the shift toward a plant-based diet. A recent study found vegetarian diets were almost twice as effective in reducing body weight compared to typical caloric-restriction diets. The researchers also noted metabolism experienced a bigger boost on the plant-based diet than the control group. - #regrann .
