“Mental Health has been a huge part of my life since I was a young girl. I have dealt with severe depression, anxiety and anger issues for many years. These problems I have faced have made things very hard for me. They have made me lose confidence within myself, I have lost close friendships due to my ongoing mental illness. It was not till this year that I realized that I needed to get help in order to have a healthy lifestyle and to be happy overall. We all suffer from different mental health issues, each and everyone else but they are all equally weighing on your overall well-being. That is why I am choosing to change my life for the better and I plan to help others dealing with similar mental health issues and those whom also suffer from mental heath problems that are different from mine. I plan to become a Mental Health Counselor someday. The first step to realizing you need to make a change is realizing you have a problem to begin with and that is the hardest part. I hope that I can be an advocate for anyone who needs a boost of confidence or a helpful hand. I hope everyone realizes how important mental health is. I hope that we can one day eliminate the stigma that mental health withholds and make for a better future for all people suffering from mental health you are not alone. 💚” #endstigma#stopthestigma#mentalhealthawarenessmonth#mentalhealthawareness#warrior
BIPOLAR TYPE 1
Yesterday we introduced, rather explained the term #Bipolar and the what it actually is.
The aim in our #MentalhealthAwarenessMonth series is so we become educated and Aware in understanding Mental Health disorders, which is necessary in combating the struggle of living with mental health problems. .
Today we go in on the TYPE 1 BIPOLAR DISORDER.
Bipolar I Disorder— defined by manic episodes that last at least 7 days, or by manic symptoms that are so severe that the person needs immediate hospital care. Usually, depressive episodes occur as well, typically lasting at least 2 weeks. Episodes of depression with mixed features (having depression and manic symptoms at the same time) are also possible.
Mental health looks and manifests differently for everyone. It is messy, illogical and downright unbearable at times. It does not reconsider for holidays, important events or for just being social. It comes unexpectedly and sometimes without mercy. Sometimes the darkness becomes too much and it seems like there is no way out.
Somedays it consumes my brain and other people don't have a clue I'm struggling. I'm able to do my job, crack jokes and interact as normal even though on the inside I am struggling to not cry. I hear often, "You don't look anxious, I had no idea". But that doesn't mean I don't feel the overwhelming effects of this anxiety that at times holds me hostage.
If anything it has taught me to have empathy because you never know who is battling the very same darkness that I am. So be kind to others, even when you don't feel like it. And stop referring to anyone brave enough to share their mental health as "crazy", let's #endthestigma . And remember, you are never alone.#mentalhealthawarenessmonth
What I Aim To Do~
•I aim to help anyone I can in any way possible!
•I’ve had depression for six years and have been inspired by so many wonderful people along the way.
•I’m fourteen(14) years old.
•As I’ve grown, I’ve discovered that I wish to be either a primary school teacher, therapist or both! They’ve always intrigued me and I love the idea of helping others to grow.
•I’m known to be rather good at helping people, so I want to try to reach a bigger audience who I can help alongside myself.
•I’m a panromantic demirom..
•Thank y’all for listening!! Comment below some things you’d like to see on this account.
Depression creeps in at times when you don't expect it. Some days are good, others very bad. I like putting on makeup and taking pretty selfies but truth is, there are days where I have to drag myself out of bed and have to put in all my effort just to eat something. Unfortunately, that side gets easily hidden away. So remember: just because someone looks okay on the outside, doesn't mean they actually are. Check up on your friends and loved ones.

Thanks to @formatfestival for the opportunity to share Justin’s story and for all of you for liking and listening, putting up with the necessity of pushing the @kickstarter . Thankyou and see you soon 😀 Big Brother is an intimate photographic portrayal of my brother Justin’s daily struggle with schizophrenia, to be published as a book in partnership with Dewi Lewis. Justin has been sectioned several times in his life and there is no getting away from the fact that his condition is severe. Yet as we get to know him better through this project, we can see there is more to Justin than just his illness. He has interests, hobbies (bird-watching especially) and yes, loves. Justin has been dating his girlfriend Jackie for over 20 years. The pictures here are part of a larger series that reveal a system in crisis, but at its heart is a love story and a project that values those suffering with mental health -——————

I was hoping for 30-35 miles today, but I was also testing out some cooler weather gear for anticipated race day temps. Then I realized that I forgot 2 key fueling components that allow me to run long, so I enjoyed the beautiful sunshine and trails for 15+ and called it quits. Better to not beat my body up with less than two weeks to #badappleultra ......
P.S. as a follow up to my #mentalhealthawarenessmonth post: That post was for reaching out to all those who are suffering. I'm ok. I've been ok for a while. However, I reserve the right to not be ok at some later date.....
The 444 project was born from unexpected circumstances. During a road trip to visit Farmington, New Mexico, Soloman picked up a hitchhiker that sparked her passion for discovering people’s stories. Soloman embarked on a 100 day journey to talk to as any people as possible, visiting over 30 states and exceeding her goal of talking with 444 people. She asked others what motivated them to get out of be in the morning, and as she developed love for these strangers she had a desire to serve them.

“Even though I take medication for my mental illness, which has helped greatly, I have been asked if I was crazy or a drug addict. I also still struggle with my worth in this world, wondering about how others think of me and if they like me or not, I am a people pleaser, but there are times where I forget about myself and my wellbeing. I still take my medication because it helps me, I see my therapist over Skype sessions, and I let my close friends know what is going on with my life to help me cope with my mental illness.” #endstigma#mentalhealthawareness#mentalhealthawarenessmonth#stopthestigma#warrior
This is the #faceofdepression - it’s a face that smiles and is silly and playful. It is the face that hangs out with friends and goes to work every day and has better shoes than everyone you know. It is a face that struggles and fights and sometimes sits in her car and cries for no reason. Be a listener. Be someone who acts. Understand. Learn. #mentalhealth#mentalhealthawarenessmonth
"I think this is great what you are doing to bring awareness to this subject! I myself suffer from panic and anxiety disorder and it’s very helpful to hear other people’s stories," shared Caitlin. 👉🏼 Learn her story & see more on our website! 👍🏼 #LetsTalkStigma#JoinTheConversation#AntiStigmaCoalition ⠀
Themes Of Mental Health.
Bipolar is a term much used in mental health but not always understood.
This October being #MentalhealthAwarenessMonth , is a good time to stop and reflect on the meaning of Mental Health disorders.
Most importantly we felt it is imperative we disseminate the stigma around #Mentalhealth issues. .
Bipolar disorder, also known as manic-depressive illness, is a brain disorder that causes unusual shifts in mood, energy, activity levels, and the ability to carry out day-to-day tasks.
There are four basic types of bipolar disorder; all of them involve clear changes in mood, energy, and activity levels. These moods range from periods of extremely “up,” elated, and energized behavior (known as manic episodes) to very sad, “down,” or hopeless periods (known as depressive episodes). Less severe manic periods are known as hypomanic episodes.
TOMORROW we will explore the four types of bipolar disorders in depth.

Did you know that our brain needs VIRGIN seed oil?
Here's why... • Virgin Seed Oils like the fresh extract from flaxseed is rich in these 3 key nutrients for the brain:
1. Omega 3 • Essential for brain function & development • Reduces risk of stroke, dementia • Enhances our memory as we age
2. Vitamin E • Slows down cognitive decline as we age.
3. B Vitamins • Helps in the production of the neurotransmitters serotonin, dopamine, and GABA. • Prevents mental decline, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. • Improves brain function and dramatically reduced brain shrinkage in the part of the brain most affected in Alzheimer’s.
Love our brain! Healthy brain leads to a happier, more positive you. And we all know that having a positive outlook in life gives us that extra-boost to see challenges as opportunities for growth and self-improvement.

"You make me sick
Wrong and wrong again
So I'm turning you out
And I'm trading you in
Sick, so sick again
Now I'm turning you out
And I'm trading you in... This will be the last time that I'll spend all life, never gonna play again. You're not the one I want in my bed, I'm not the song you want in your head." Trying to fight off inner monologue this last week. People silently lurking, watching. I've been noticing my thoughts shift into an ugly headspace. I really shouldn't give strangers' opinions have such a power to mindfuck me, but here I am. I'm a glutton for misery. Stuck in my own thoughts.
Came across a new page and skimmed through their posts from the past year, with a focus on goal-setting. It was easy to gloss over it. Decided to actually journal it out with just focusing on one main goal and it took me over an hour to complete. Haven't done anything like this in I couldn't tell you how long, but it felt good to release these thoughts.
