It looks like a small pumpkin and when roasted it has a sweet, buttery and nutty taste.

Had #dinner at the newly opened @eldoradocafeatx #lastnight and it was #delicious . I’m telling you, #followme and you’ll never eat a bad meal. When you walk in the place, you’ll notice the layout is a little different. It’s a very open room, tables laid out to the right, with a bar on the left, a few tables outside, kitchen in back, and a waiting area up front. Bar is full service, which is good to know because there might be a wait since it’s only been open about 6 weeks. They’ve got some featured #cocktails , but I like to ask the bartender what to eat instead. He recommended several things, including both of the dishes we ordered. In addition to the awesome food, there are 5 tasty salsa options to go with your tortilla chips. For entrees we had the Chi Chi Tinga and the Short Rib Salpicon. Tinga is usually shredded, but they kind of cube it up here. Regardless, the seasoning was great and so was the red chile adobo sauce it was cooked in. No complaints about the Short Rib either. Braised in roasted chiles, tomatoes and sherry, this shredded Short Rib is fully flavored and delish. Between us we had 4 sides: black beans, rice, mojo veg, and cheese and rice. It’s nice to have options, especially when they’re all very good. We even got to meet Joel, one of the owners. He was very nice and made sure everyone was enjoying themselves. For starting out as a catering company, they certainly seem comfortable in the restaurant business, and luckily the one constant is good food.
