Service: 10/10 ⠀
Food: 6/10 The food was okay but nothing that blew our minds. Considering they had a Michelin rating we were surprised at the quality. The started were far superior to the mains. I would suggest venturing out into Town for your dinner. ⠀
Communication:  10/10 Everyone was terrific and very helpful.⠀
Room: 10/10 The rooms are enormous and have Juliette baloneys that you can open, they do not restrict them with bars. In the mornings the first thing I would do is turn on the coffee machine, open up the large windows and let the fresh sea air and natural light wake me up. The bathrooms are huge and the showers are steam showers with a bench. A perfect way to warm up after a day of hiking in the mountains. ⠀
Overall Resort Decor/ Scenery: Situated on 15 Acres overlooking Portree Bay towards the majestic Cullin Mountain Range. From walking around the town, it was apparent that our hotel had the most beautiful views compared to the ones in town. The town is only a 5-minute walk. I recommend staying outside of the town square as it is more relaxing and quiet. Many of the hotels online appeared to be on the water however they are not; they are set back on the road, making the view not as desirable. ⠀
Experiences Offered: Hiking in Skye is endless! Get ready for some of the best hiking in the world. Skye is situated in a majestic mountain range that will think you are in another world. Of all the places we saw in Europe, Skye is the one place I am most excited to go back to. Next time I will go for 2 or 3 weeks to relax and just hang in the mountains. There is a unique energy to Skye, and I knew instantly it was a place I would be back to. ⠀
Disappointments:  None! We loved our time in Skye. ⠀

The Emmanuel Rougets: 
Vosne Romanee 10 - Lovely nose, very aromatic and full of roses and lavender. Cool, elegant and balanced with nice lingering acid in the background but filled with a strong core of strawberries, blueberries and plums. Surely drinking way better than many Vosne 1ers. 
Vosne Romanee 12 - Like the 10, a lovely floral and aromatic bouquet, very fresh and just so alluring. Fruits were definitely more primary, and there were hints of chocolate and Arabic spice. Super village! 
Beaumonts 1er 09 - A step up from the village wines, but honestly not by much. Credit to Rouget, this had totally zero indication of the 09 heat and flabbiness, instead this was absolutely fresh, acidic and pure with a complex mix of berries, wild strawberries, red kiwi and pomegranate. A hint of lavender and new leather but possessing a clear Vosne profile - very spicy, very silken tannins and full of incense. It’s just so hard to pick a favourite between Rouget and CLB! 🔥🔥

Krug - Good depth with lots of ripe yellow fruit. Slightly toasty and yeasty, surrounded by a nice mineral core. Like all Krugs, the best sip was after the wine had breathed for a couple of hours, leading to more complexity and balance. Thanks CK @cyberk13 for the generous treat! 
Butteaux 1er - The heat from the vintage resulted in a denser and fatter wine, with very little acid and minerals. Fruits were a little clunky, sweetened pineapples, Indian mango and peach syrup. Not much of that signature Raveneau profile but still a good wine, drinking in a suitable window. 
MDT 1er - This was obviously a clear step up from the Butteaux. Fruit was more refined and there was some melon, kiwi, mango and just the faintest touch of oyster shell and sea salt. This was also more complex and elegant. Definitely one of the better 03 whites out there. 👍

The previous three courses had seemed mild compared to the initial dishes, but the cod reverted to form with a rich, complex sauce bursting with flavor. The fish was so silky and tender it practically melted into the sauce.

Paired with a white Rioja that had enough body to stand up to the rich sauce. All in all, this course was one of the high points of the meal. .

If you follow me for a while, you know my favorite restaurant in LA is Yamakase.  This restaurant is primarily invite only, but you can submit a request through their website.  The meal usually lasts 4 hours and total of 25+ course . Also, it is a #BYOB type of place and Yama-San loves to drink with his customers.  Yamakase has a nickname between couple of our friends, they called it "uni bombing" (#uni轟炸) but I called it "uni heaven"! .
I was supposed to go to Yamakase with my wife and mother-in-law last Wednesday to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday, but due to LA fire (prayer goes out to all the residents)🙏, I ended up stuck at work and I asked one of my best friends @joannelphoto (check out her IG, she is the best photographer in town) to take over my slot. 📸👍

After the meal, Yama-san gave my wife a boxed gift to surprise me.  When I opened it at home, it was a box of fresh uni and the most incredible gift in my life.  Yama-san didn't want me to feel left out from uni heaven, It was the best gift EVER especially after a super crazy long day at work.  I can't thank Yama-San enough! Thank you for the wonderful birthday meal to my mother-in-law and my uni box!  We love you!❤️❤️❤️
