No better way to spend a Sunday than making kimchi with friends. As a society we are close to loosing our connection with food, the land and our understanding of food as medicine, so it's fabulous to spend an afternoon with like minded people who are trying to get back to how our mothers/grandmothers prepared and understood food. We all swapped a jar each so it will be interesting to see the difference in the final kimchi from each as we all tweaked our batch slightly to suit our tastes 😊Thanks to @thefermentary recipe book for guiding us along. #loveyourguts#trustyourgut#kimchi#fermentedfood#fermentforgood#vegetarian#vegetablesrock
Did you know that within you and on you, you have a community of organisms that are collectively called the MICROBIOME? Did you also know that there are more microbes in the gut alone than the entire human body? Your bacterial cells out number your human cells 10 to 1. Creepy cool, right? Did you know we can predict "leanness" and obesity from the gut bacteria microbiome?
Let's take it a step further. What if every aspect of your health depended on the vitality of your microbiome? AND what if you could supplementally feed it in a way that would take your health to a whole new level???? You can and the #healthandhappiness company is leading the way in just that. We're supporting healthy glucose metabolism AND a whole new level of gut health.
Want to learn more about the micrombiome? Search & watch the educational video by Dr Robynne Chutkan titled, "Dr. Robynne Chutkan | Revitalize | Why The Microbiome Is The Future Of Medicine" on YouTube. She is brilliant and super easy to listen to. She has so many awesome points that lead back to what I talk about every single day. Learning to grow our own gut garden is key in being healthy!! Want to feel amazing and maybe even run your day on #beastmode ?? We should chat. I've got the goods.
What is an e-motion? (Energy in motion)
Strong emotional reactions such as fear, anger, or sadness may increase vulnerability to disease.
Beginning changes in the gut microflora were observed after 1 day of psychological stress.😱
Significant decrease in fecal lactobacilli was noted on the 3rd day and the gut microflora remained negatively altered for several days thereafter, before returning to normal.
👉🏼Now this is really cool👈🏼: it was found that a specific strain "bacteroides fragilis" was 20 to 30% increased in individuals in response to anger or fearful situations. After the situations were resolved, the concentrations of these organisms decreased to normal levels.
👉🏼 it has been found that exposure to psychological stress results in a significant reduction in the production of mucin. Mucin is important for inhibiting the adherence of pathogenic bacteria to stick to the gut mucosa. A decrease in mucin allows for the bad bugs to colonize yo insides!
Check the link in the bio to read about how stress can shrink your brain!
Baked milk ... Why? It's a Russian thing ... Tastes like caramel! ❤
Boil and then put in the oven at 130C (±20C depending on your oven) for a few hours ... This is after about four hours.
The crust is pretty cool! (and yummy!!!) You can then drink it as is or make a fermented drink #Ryazhenka , similar to #kefir but tastes like caramely custard. LOVE it!
Go to Smile to Go and get yourself a bone broth with fresh ginger. Not only does it taste delicious, but bone broth is rich in minerals that support your immune system. It’s also a great source of collagen which is fabulous for your skin and may improve bone and joint health. The addition of ginger is great for reducing inflammation 👍🏻
Let’s go blueberries, let’s go! Just cheering my blueberries along, because organic blueberries are pretty expensive, so I can’t wait to start harvesting these. 💙💙💙 Last year I found that they took SO long to finally be ripe, and then cropped in smaller amounts but it went for weeks. Not what I expected. When we did have more than we could eat immediately I froze them. Just use a freezer proof container or ziplock bag, and keep adding handfuls to it. 💙💙💙 What is your favourite way to use blueberries? I like mine on ice cream, or I add frozen blueberries to mojitos!
Did you know that one of the biggest predictors of the diversity of your microbiome, is the amount of different plants you eat.. Your microbiome consists of all the bacteria, viruses, fungi etc that live inside of you, and on your skin. Collectively, they are the 'bugs' that make us who we are and they're responsible for many things including the health of our immune system.. When it comes to your microbiome, the more diverse the number of different bugs you have, the better. Diversity = fantastic when it comes to your microbiome health. It's been shown that those who eat at least 20 different types of plants - fruits, veggies, herbs, etc - have the most diverse, and usually the healthiest microbiomes. Now 20 different varieties sounds HUGE right? Well it definitely isn't, in fact, its WAY easier than it sounds! We've been counting all the types we ingest, and usually we're almost half way there just with breakfast! Adding in a couple of slices of cucumber or capsicum, or even a spoonful of fermented veggies makes a huge difference, and those are super easy to add to the side of your brekkie. If you're having eggs, chop up some mixed herbs to sprinkle over the top - that could easily add another 5 in right!...AND imagine the possibilities if you then add in herbal medicine too - see, it really is very easy to ingest 20 different types of plants every day! :-) .. Start counting today, check in with the amount of different plants you consume each day.. your health will benefit hugely from it! #microbiome#messagesfromplants#eatyourmedicine#luvyourbugs ❤️

I said I wasn’t gonna use the silly cat filter.... but here it is! 😂🐱🙈 Its been an amazing morning! Got up early and hit some yard sales! Enjoyed my pink drink and now I’m ready for the day! Speaking of my pink drink, Did you see what was on the #TodayShow a couple weeks ago? Dr. Oz was talking about the importance of good #gut bacteria and mentioned something called ... #waitforit .... Akkermansia!👉🏼 Hmmm, where have I heard that word before?🤔 Truth is I had never heard of it until Plexus released our new #pinkdrink in May. Then I put my research cap on & learned a thing or two! Everyone has Akkermansia in their gut. And the amount of #Akkermansia in the gut can determine if someone has certain health issues. It affects #weight and #metabolism . The study of the human #microbiome is amazing and scientists👨🏼🔬 are JUST scratching the surface of what all it affects. Google it.👩🏼💻You'll be there a while because it's fascinating.🤓😮🙃 Studies have shown that increased Akkermansia in the gut means easier #weightloss and better moods! #hello#yesplease 🙋🏼 Our pink drink contains a #PREbiotic called #Xylooligosaccharides (#XOS for short) which feeds GOOD gut microbes. In other words, it does in your gut what #MiracleGrow does in your garden.🙌🏼👊🏼✌🏼Clinical studies show that the pink drink increases Akkermansia by 250 times! So ... if you thought I was just blowing smoke ... think AGAIN! It's ALL linked together & our pink drink CAN help you get it all worked out!🤗 #microbiomehealth#focusonyourgut#droz#science#thirdpartyvalidation#validationfeelsgood#googleit
Sauerkraut, kimchi, and cucumbers all doin their thing, FERMENTING! 🌱💫 If you're new to fermentation here's a little background for you! ✨ Fermented foods are foods that have been through a process of lactofermentation in which natural bacteria feed on the carbohydrates, sugars and starch in the food creating lactic acid. This process preserves the food, and creates beneficial enzymes, b-vitamins, Omega-3 fatty acids, and various strains of probiotics. 🙌 Fermented foods are rich in live bacteria that replenish your microbiome, helping it maintain the right proportion of friendly bacteria for optimal health. 💗 A balanced microbiome regulates the immune system, metabolism, sustains the gastrointestinal tract, supports mood and brain function, produces crucial vitamins and nutrients, and helps us maintain a healthy weight. 👏 You can easily find fermented foods at any health food store, or try making your own! 🙃😋
Congratulations Michele on completing our 12 week Strong Women Stay Young Mind-Body Transformation!
Michele is a real fireball!!! At 70 years young, she swings kettlebells, deadlifts, squats, plays tennis, and plays & coaches pickleball! A true inspiration!
When she started with us she had tried a number of ways to "diet" herself down and nothing worked.
Because the beliefs, and expectations she held about herself are what held her back and she would revert to her old patterns! In the program she discovered how to begin a journey into self inquiry, to understand the "whys" behind her patterns and more importantly she began implementing the tools we teach that helped her to SHIFT HER PERCEPTIONS of her reality and WHAT IS POSSIBLE.
When your perception changes you begin to make choices and behave in the ways that ALIGN to that new empowering perception.
We don't believe the hype --> motivation, positive affirmations, yada yada yada...that crap doesn't work!
Real change comes from doing the inner work...and is not easy to look in the mirror and call bullshit on yourself. Its work and it takes patience, it takes time (a lifetime!) Michele has tried many other therapies and self-development in the past and she expressed that nothing had really resonated with her until she found our program!
You see, what's DIFFERENT in this program is that we teach you to work with your body not against it, begin healing your relationship with yourself and with food. You learn how to begin shifting your perceptions on many things like your beliefs about yourself and what progress really looks like and just how EASY and FUN it can be!
If you have tried everything and nothing has led you to sustainable changes, maybe its time to try a different approach.
PM me for ALL the details on this program.
