I know this vintage wooden swing bench is meant to go outside, or in a patio, and that would be great, but my twisted mind can't help but picture it hanging from the ceiling indoors, maybe in the living room near a window...I love breaking design rules like that. Either way, outside, inside, i love it. $145.
I feel like this week is flying by! How is it already Wednesday?! We are working on several new projects this week but we still have this Mid Century Walnut Dresser and it's matching highboy and pair of nightstands 😊 62.25"x18" 30.75"H $595
Little taste of the many new jams coming at you next Monday! Would post it now but taking a much needed trip into the mountains this weekend to clear my head and would never be able to respond to you beautiful people's inquiries! Much love 🙏🏼
Reach Through The Façade
St. Louis performance center
St. Louis, Mo
The project developed out of studies of human movement and continuity in a street condition. The project examines the consequences of transparency and reflection, both spiritually and architecturally. It is about celebrating sidewalks and street corners, forming a stronger connection and a dialog between street and the building. The street is like a stage where people are ether performers or audiences. An empty street is like an empty stage.
The site exists in a very important corner on the intersection of Washington Avenue and 14th Street. The city has spent $100 million to complete renovations of the street, and the building along the plan seems to work out for the most part. However, the street has a dead point where everything stops. The site is located right after that street intersection where the dead point of the street begins.
The program reflects the human movement by housing performance spaces, dance studios, rehearsal centers, and street retail. The building aims at encouraging movements that are both static and didactic from its interior spaces to the exterior street—both horizontally and vertically.
We have some cool wicker nightstands now, but I really dug our old book nightstand towers while we had em. And speaking of old books, I brought in SOOO many new ones for the weekend and it's definitely my favorite batch yet. Watch my stories later today as I go through them! Remember all old books are just $4 every day at CK Design Co ($20 shipping minimum). Come see me tomorrow 2-8.
