#millingmonday – Three breakthrough artists forever immortalized as sculptures. First unveiled December 7th by @specialguestagram and their collaboration with @spotify and @rapcaviar and then open to the public for one day only at the Brooklyn Museum featured artists 21 Savage, Metro Boomin, and Sza. The sculptures were made by @neoset_designs with @proptogroup programmed by @octopuzrobotics utilizing our KUKA robots to mill the final pieces. A yarn is only as great as the sum of all of its parts. The animal that gifts us the fiber, the caretaker of that animal, the person who shears it, the person who designs the yarn and the person(s) who makes the yarn. And when all of that is also done with love, it is that much more special. I am fortunate to carry out most of those parts...something few can say. Our mission statement has always been to “put a face with the fiber”. Usually I am referring to the animal from which the fiber came from, but with this post it now bears new meaning. For the second time now I have had the chance to travel to Kansas to visit with my mill. Early in this industry someone “warned” me to not reveal where my yarn was spun and for a long time I did not. In the past year, I’ve let that fear go. Transparency and truth has always been important to me. In a world of marketing where “key” words are simply used to gain your support, authenticity has always been mine. No one can copy the LOVE that creates my yarn and my love for this family that makes it happen for me for 10 years now. Thank you to all of you at @theshepherdsmill for bringing my dreams and my visions to life. So when you support my small fiber business you are also bringing economic vitality to a small town in Kansas. 🙏🏻❤️
