Love this quote! ❤️ But really...are you getting enough sleep?
Getting 7-9 hours of sleep a day can: - reduce stress + inflammation
- help you feel energized the next day - help improve memory
- help the body repair itself

Listen. There are endless reasons to get your business shit together. And all roads lead back to more clients, happier clients, more money, and less stress.
Ready to come over to the dark side yet? Where things are all alphabetized and color coded, it’s all kinds of pretty and just pure amaaaazingness!
How would your business benefit with a better system in play?
One question I ask clients when we are discussing their branding and website is "Why?" This question usually takes people by surprise. "Why are you building this website? Why do you own a business" Most people get so caught up in the day to day and the errands and emails that they don't stop to remember WHY. 〰〰〰
Why is the "Why?" important? Because the "Why" gives you clarity with your message✨ Why are you getting up at 6am (or staying up til 6am!), why are you balancing starting a business with a full time job, why are you letting the dishes sit in the sink so you can answer a few more emails? If you know exactly *why* you are doing this, then you will be like a magnet to clients 🙌 Your copywriting and branding will be *SO* crystal clear all the right people will be filling your inbox wanting to work with you. 〰〰〰
For me? My "why" is so that I can travel 🌎and be free and help others spark their freedom as well. I believe your website is your ticket to freedom, and to me that makes 6am alarms and dirty dishes in the sink totally worth it.
Tell me, what is your why? You got out of bed today, there must be a reason. Dig deep and let me know what it is so we can keep pushing forward together👇

💍 6 months later and we finally set a date 6.30.18 👰🏼🤵🏻
✨being engaged is a little surreal for me. In my "rough sketch" life plan, being in a relationship just wasn't something I've focused on and I definitely would not have pictured getting married before the age of 26🤷🏼♀️⠀
👉🏼I've known I don't want kids for a while too, so I really felt no rush in the relationship department✖️
✨✨✨however, I've learned over and over the last 2 years, whatever you dream up or plan 🗺 cannot compare to how amazing life is when you open up really live it 💫 [that's not to say it isn't still messy at times]⠀
🕵🏼♀️I find myself looking around for the "right answers" when it comes to work, relationships, health. ✨ Over and over again life reminds me that there aren't really any right answers or right timelines, just paths ✨
💏I'm excited to have a partner on my path who's the salty to my sweet, the clarity to my chaos, literally picks me up out of bed in the morning and doesn't mind being hugged 23.5 hours a day😂🤗

〰Wellness〰 is taking a second to stop; breathe, & appreciate the small moments in life -- like a beautiful sky and colorful leaves on a crisp fall night. After recently injuring my knee and going from a constant superrr busy schedule to literally not being able to leave far from the couch for months (and still on crutches 😩) I've realized how crazy life can get trying to do *everything* and how amazing it feels to s l o w down and BE rather than just go, go, go. Suddenly going from 100 to 0 in the midst of my busy life, I admit at first, made me stir-crazy, but then I realized how fast paced things were for me before. Wellness has looked a lot different for me lately as I am recovering and really *working* on the basics (like walking). This time off has given me some clarity on what I want my true wellness and balanced lifestyle to be, which going forward will involve more balance of doing the things I want and taking more moments to evaluate, breathe, and appreciate where I'm at in the moment!! Sometimes you need to take a step back to take a few steps forward.
Do you actually accept and validate your own internal experience? Have you noticed that the way we communicate every day is mostly setting you up not to do this? Validation of another's experience is like relationship glue. Can you make space for others, even when it's difficult?
And if you can't do it for yourself, how can you really know yourself?
I realized the truth of this again tonight when I was empathizing with others. Why couldn't I let myself fully feel those same feels when I was in their position?
A daily practice of #mindfulness (paying attention to your own thoughts and feelings) is a necessary first step on the path to saving your own damn self. Follow along this week on MY STORY where I'll share some thoughts and tips. #questionyourculture#streetartlove#workingonit
For those nights when you want to EAT ALL THE THINGS😅 Turkey burger topped with all the @clekraut & homemade (organic) thousand island dressing. Roasted cauli & rice! I've been on such a green onion kick lately, so I threw a handful of those babies on top. Today was a long one, but I'm excited to be off of work & watch the Madame Secretary from last night.😍 How was everyone's Monday?! #mondaymotivation#manicmonday#goodeats#uprootedtable

Last week we finished the last corner of our yard! We're still adjusting to having no backyard but the addition of these tiny spots makes all the difference to how the kids use the limited space. Once some screening plants grow on the other side of the fence for privacy, we'll be laughing (in our bathers!) 🌱☀️🙌🏼
Garden goals. 😍🌱 I’m constantly impressed by all the hidden beauty I find in San Diego! Being home for a while has its advantages. 😉 This spot is tucked away at a private residence. I spent a wonderful day in this space learning how to remove self-limiting beliefs and step into our highest purpose. Journaling and meditation have been super helpful for me. What works for you? How do you remind yourself on the daily that you’re a badass? 🙌👊✨#gardenparty#mindfulliving#positivevibes#sandiego#wanderingdawn

Does your current nail polish remover strip your nails and contain acetone? Most removers have a strong smell and are full of chemicals that are harsh on your nails and bad for your body.
Karma Organic Nail Polish Remover is non-toxic and acetone-free. I have the lavender one and love it (they also sell an unscented one with Vitamin E, in addition to the ones above). You have to scrub a little harder to remove several coats of polish since it is free of chemicals, but it effectively removes polish and leaves your nails soft.
I think we’re under the impression that inner travel is like a road trip. Want inner peace? You just go from Point A to Point B, and sure, maybe there will be a couple stops along the way. Want to work on healing that childhood pain? Here’s a map, if you’ll just follow the clearly outlined path. Have some anger issues? I have a trail that will serve that purpose if you just follow these directions. It won’t take long now.
But inner travel isn’t a road trip. We don’t ever get to our destination. We find ourselves arriving at points along the way, and we certainly keep moving forward. But we’re never “there.” We don’t just arrive, and say, “Oh, look, we’re done now. There’s no longer a need to work on anything. Hello, inner peace!”... I just recently got back from a short road trip, and it made me think of my journey toward improving my life. How I’ve been trying to go deeper and challenge myself to be more authentic, more vulnerable and generally more courageous in the way I choose to live my life. And I had a second where I saw my inner journey as mirroring my outer one, and it made me look at it in a new way.
We’re always told that it’s the journey and not the destination that matters, but most of us don’t really believe that. We’re so busy striving for our destinations that the journey becomes something we rush through, counting down the hours and minutes until we get to where we’re going... We’re missing the journey... ✨ S T O R Y T I M E ✨
As my birthday present to you I'm gonna let you in on a little secret.. A year ago when I turned 23, I basically had a quarter-life crisis😱😨
It was a very intense time in my life. Trying to make it living in London, I went through three jobs in three weeks. Experiences were coming at me like bludgers⚾️ and as I watched my behaviour unfold with new eyes, I was starting to connect it with repetitive patterns in my life. But then turning 23 shook my world. I suddenly felt ancient, like I'd aged 10 years in one day. I felt like I'd wasted my whole life, and now I was 23 it was basically over. How had I let this happen? How had I spent so much of my life lying to myself? So much so that I barely knew who I really was. I was terrified. But my only choice was to hold tight and keep going, there was no way of going back now.. I kept following my gut, which shortly led me back home. To digest what I'd learned and ultimately save up for the new adventure I'm now clumsily navigating🌎
I still get moments where I feel lost, I've learned that it's part of the journey, and each time they are a bit shorter and bit less intense. I was nervous about turning 24, but I'm truly at ease knowing I'm on my path now. Every single day striving to be better and closer to myself than the one before.
I hope this story can give someone a little hope that it's not too late, and remind you that your story is nothing to be ashamed of - it's the only one you've got. Keep being true to yourself, even (especially) when you feel alone or it's hard. You'll be so proud of yourself when you come out the other side ❤️
Sometimes the path that takes longer is worth the journey. .
Another reminder, life lessons are always right there if I'm willing to pay attention. I could have taken the bus and reached my destination in 20 min (the 'rational'choice to make), but the beauty of the day was calling and my body wanted to walk. 50 min later I reached my destination and yeah I "wasted time," but in reality that time wasn't wasted. It fed and nourished me. A reminder to myself it's not the amount of time the journey takes (*remove the judgment*), it is about the quality of the trip. .
So often we put extra pressure on ourselves to do it faster, be more efficient, rush, struggle...but when we do that we can easily lose the sense of joy and beauty. .
I get to apply this lesson to my life and remember to enjoy this journey of life & instead of wanting to "fast forward" or rush the transitions, the longer journey tends to teach me the most.
Unclear whether this is a soup, stew, or curry, but as they say "a rose by any other name would taste as delicious" -- that's how it goes, right? •••
I made this with diced tomatoes, red peppers, butternut squash, white beans, tons of spices, and coconut milk. It's warm, filling, easy, and tastes like fall. Eaten with rice for dinner yesterday, and packed with kale salad and cashews today.
Mountains for many can be considered sacred spaces. Places to go and reconnect, reflect and absorb. Their magnificence and beauty alone can calm and relax the spirit. In fact Sacred mountains are central to certain religions and are the subjects of many legends. For many, the most symbolic aspect of a mountain is the peak because it is believed that it is closest to heaven or other religious worlds. But a sacred space can be created almost anywhere and in many different ways either by yourself or with other people. At Yoga Motion we begin our weekly meetings welcoming the sacred into our gathering. Just a short meditation or a breathing practice brings us into the present moment. When we all step into the present moment we are ready to begin collaborating and creating. We move forward from a place of understanding, presence and compassion. Read more on the blog on Martha’s thought provoking piece on the possible benefits of bringing in more of this into our lives. As we continue to bloom and emerge during this beautiful expansion you may also wish to understand or invite healing and insight into what is being set free, let go of, healed, changed, transformed... So that this can be expressed. What are you letting go of and what are you opening to? 📷: via Pinterest
Do you get carried away with restless thoughts? Distracted by rabbit holes – chasing a thought down, down, down until you are so caught up in it you can’t get out? Or maybe you’re easily susceptible to impulse buys (yeah…I’m still a work in progress on this one). The thing is, we do not have to be slaves to our restless thoughts. By shifting from the slave to the observer you can start selecting the thoughts you want to roll with and filtering out those that simply do not serve you. You start creating a world the feels right to you – rather than a world that’s spinning all around you, or a world that you are just skimming through.
I have a beautiful practice to help you attune to the observer role and break free from the impulsive, repetitive or restless thoughts. You can use it at any moment…during a meditation, out shopping, while eating, during or after a conversation…

It's here, it's here, it's here 🍂 remember to be kind to yourself through the seasonal transition 🌾 give in to slowing down, enjoy the fall colors, and maybe, just maybe, go to bed a little earlier -- your tomorrow will thank you 🌙 Tag a friend who needs a little nourishment ✨
#MeatlessMonday calls for a big bowl of pad thai zoodles! .
Make your meals colorful! Each color provides a different nutrient that your body needs to operate at it's best!
What are you having for dinner tonight?
“It’s a dangerous business, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to." J.R.R Tolkien. I love my home, most of the time that's where I am and want to be. But I also love to travel. See new places, visit familiar places, try something new, create memories for the days that I'm sick of only walking inside my house all day, every day.
Last week we spent three nights in a city we have visited many times before, but keep coming back to.
Favorite things to do in London; drink kombucha from tap at Planet Organic, spend an hour in a book store and stroll around Borough market.
