📷😊 just picked up my developed film yesterday. I really like some of the shots and I'll try not to post all at once haha. of course some were not so great but it's a learning process for sure. thanks @marcencabo for getting me started on this film journey #35mm#minoltasrt102 ✨
I’m posting this photo for the @thedarkroomlab #thedarkroomlab_hip shoot from the hip film challenge. I’ve never done anything like this before, but if any of my photos fits the description, it is this one. I inherited my grandpa’s cameras when he passed away and until recently I had them on display. I decided that he would have rather me use them, instead of the cameras collecting dust. This was his favorite camera, a Minolta SRT102 35mm with a 50mm prime lens, the camera is full manual with a built-in light averaging meter. This was taken on my second roll of Portra 400, just walking around shooting everything that I saw, getting used to the camera. My girlfriend was playing with our two dogs and throwing the tennis ball, I snapped multiple shots of her playing with them, just trying to take as many as I could. I sent the rolls to The Icon for developing and scans. When I got them back, not all of the pictures were perfect, but I was ecstatic when I saw this one, it looked so beautiful! The colors, the lighting, everything just clicked! It was this picture that has inspired me to start shooting film as my primary medium. It has an intimacy about it that is unmatchable. .
