Toys for children can create an experience that can have a lasting impact on the development of a child - for better or worst. Dolls with unrealistic features and disproportionate body types can have a detrimental effect on the self image of young girls. At #CurlyTreatsLondon Festival, @sibahlecollection will be launching their #blackdolls , promoting a positive self-image through dolls which look like your girls. -------------------------------------------

"...Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
’Cause I walk like I've got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.
Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I'll rise..."
Currently reliving my days playing Mario cart and Wii Sports and realizing I'm having one of those moments where I thought I was better because I'm older now but it was all a lie 😂 •Top: @yomokoapparel •
I posted this photo on Facebook last week and totally forgot to show you.😔
My Beautiful Girl!
For the past couple of years, she's been experimenting with her hair and I just let her go. But between you and me, I've always loved her original curls. One dip in the ocean and they're coming back! No flatiron in her suitcase so it's curls for the rest of this trip.
She gets compliments on her curly hair but, so far, it hasn't sunk in yet that, what she hates, people kill for. Oh well!🤷🏽♂️
Right now, she does everything to play down her looks and I say zilch. I'm quite aware that one wrong peep out of my mouth could be taken the wrong way and I love her too much to stress her even more.
Ninth grade starts soon and braces come off shortly after that.
Love watching her blossom!😊
