February 2016 I made this clock for the first time (swipe all the way left) and last night I was looking through my laptop at old photos from when we first started making clocks. Sometimes it's hard to look at them, and often Norm and I laugh because we can't believe we made something like that. I decided to post the last photo because progress is impossible without struggle and change, (trust me we've done that) and if there wasn't a difference in the photos than we wouldn't be improving. I think we all enjoy progress, and sometimes I want it a little too quickly rather than realizing the things we already have accomplished. Today I will remind myself of the things that we have achieved, knowing improvements will happen (slowly), and always remaining grateful of this small business.
Loved finishing up "Engaging Luminescence" as it's rich colors and multiple sheer texture reminds me somehow of marble and all it's beautiful & unexpected layers. I am so drawn to tiles & stone (she of the wood floors!)and don't you just marvel at what can be uncovered when stone is polished? 💎💙💧

Why do we like beautiful things? 🌞 ❤️🌼@farnamstreet said it best: "Everyone pretty much likes beautiful things but Plato was the first to ask why do we like them? He found a fascinating reason: beautiful objects are whispering important truths to us about the good life. We find things beautiful when we sense qualities in them that we need but are constantly missing in our lives: gentleness; harmony; balance; peace; (and) strength. Beautiful objects therefore have a really important function: they help to educate our souls." 🌼
