Sexual abuse is something that cannot be stopped, but we as parents can take precautions against it such as communicating with our children and monitoring the individuals around them. This is not to bash anyone's parenting skills, but we have to monitor who are around our children. Be careful who you date and bring to your house because some people can be preying on your child. Just because you get into a relationship or start dating someone doesn't mean that you should bring that man around your daughter. Stop moving in every man that you meet, that's not a good example for your daughter and it's not safe. Also I know it's hard to find a support system, but allowing your daughter to stay with your boyfriend while you work or whatever the case is not always a good idea. I'm not saying all men sexually assault children but it's better to be cautious than blind. Watch out for other children as well because they prey on the weak. Let's not forget about the sons because they too are victims of sexual abuse. Just because he's a boy doesn't mean that it's ok to leave him around everybody. Let's kill the stereotype that only girls are raped and molested because that's not the truth. Watch the uneasiness your child has around a certain individual. Children can sense bad vibes more than we can sometimes because we are blinded by certain people and believe that they aren't capable of such heinous acts. If you see your child acting uneasy around an individual, ask questions! Listen to your gut feeling. Our children should be able to trust us enough that they are not scared to speak up, but if we don't educate them on this matter how would they know they can trust us to believe them, trust that we won't be mad at them, trust that we will protect them? Many children stay silent because they live in fear because of threats to them or their family, or they fear that no one would believe them. I know this is a conversation most parents don't want to have with their children because we can't fathom this happening to our child, but this is real and these things occur too often. Today we rested! Took the whole day to just hang out with the little man 👶🏾 and watch some 🏈 Lucky for me because my legs are STILL sore from Friday's workout. Here's the exercise that really kicked my butt: Front lunge with cross punch. I kept tapping my toe so I wouldn't fall on my face 😅 8x on each side, for 3 rounds was enough to feel he burn!
