This nutrition and health kick that I am on has lasted a year and a hslf now. I think it's more than a kick, it's a habit, it's a way of life, it's a lifestyle. Once you feel amazing in your own skin and completely at home on the beach, no donut or cupcake could ever lore you away from it! Nothing tastes as good as healthy feels. Everyone has something quirky about them..EVERYONE! Your teen is no different..it's what makes them unique so instead of finding it annoying where you feel like you have to change them, find it endearing so you can learn how to embrace them, "But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand." Ok for the push-up challenge that one of my clients started as a fun side gig I call it haha, I did 20 scorpion push-ups, 10 floating leg ones, 5 tricep push-ups from PiYo live 😉, 15 wide push-ups, and 20 regular push-ups... total 70! Woop!
First ever meal prep 🥘 Not as bad as I thought it would be. 🙌🏽
Breakfast: overnight oats with mixed berries/shake or banana
🌶 taco stuffed green peppers with steamed cauliflower & broccoli and fresh strawberries
🥗 grilled chicken salad with cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, feta cheese and hard boiled eggs
Snacks: 🥕 carrots and hummus 🍎 apple with peanut butter
Seriously full until dinner time and didn't splurge on fast food!! 😜

My so-so eating is catching up with me.
Guys it's no wonder when you start, it's hard sometimes because you've been conditioned to eat in such a poor way (but you think it's normal ). I've been taking food out a lot, and my workouts have been affected. Totally can feel it.
But I'm so over it right now...
When I get back from my trip gonna go back to my meal prepping in advance, some Mason Jar salads, meal plans pinned to the fridge, and knuckle down 👊
The cool thing is all my resources are there for me.
I know exactly what to do to stay on track.

Some of you know that I have just started this health journey!! I'm typically a really private person but honestly in a short time I actually feel more accountable and confident just from sharing here on IG and FB! My goal is to start thinking less and living more! I found an awesome group of women that have inspired me and taught me a thing or two about fitness and nutrition! Without fail: do my workout, feel badass.
I can't even come up with any memory where a person in one of my groups felt 'worse' afterwards.
It's just unheard of...
So why do we repeatedly come up with all these excuses for why we think we aren't gonna get to it?
It's almost ridiculous!
I mean I am not immune to this either, if I can be frank.
This one session, ABC Extreme, is usually one I like, but my food has been so off for the last week, too much eating out and extra sugars and processed fats sneaking in I suspect (can't pinpoint exactly but know they're getting in)
and it takes its toll on my energy.
It felt like A was for AGONY, B for BATTERED and/or C for CALLOUS 😫
But I literally can feel my mind fooling my muscles - pushed it and got through.
I know where the weakness is coming from. I've been sloppy due to the stress of my relationship and that's not really an excuse either.
Because life is gonna go on.
So push it! Get it done with grace. Doesn't have to be the greatest, but just has to be finished.

Trying to use up all the food, herbs, and vegetables that are left before I leave on my trip, so nothing is wasted or spoils. This has several vegetables in it, basil, parsley, chicken, sweet potato, and coconut milk. Himalayan Pink salt and pepper.
It's been a busy morning!! Lex has prom today so It was just me today!! 💪🏼 She ended up doing yesterday's workout after school last night, so I told her she had to take today off!

Growing those shoulder boulders! Started doing seated front raises as it isolates my shoulders and makes me work harder - I can't cheat and use the rest of my body to lift the weights. 😅 Followed this up with a quick 22-minute cardio sesh, courtesy of my fitness app! 📱 Feeling good! 🙌🏻 How are you all keeping the body moving today? We're headed to my daughter's volleyball game and then hoping to get outside to enjoy this beautiful day - so glad I got the workout done this morning so I can do that! ☀️😀

After taking a 4 month break we are back together...as workout partners!
With my shoulder injury and Justin having specific goals, we decided to do different workouts. I have to admit, I was worried. I have always had him to rely on to get up with me so I had no excuse.
What I found was an inner strength and determination that I didn't realize I possessed. That I create my outcome, that I need to push towards my goals and that I have an amazing support system in my virtual accountability group to lean on during the rough times.
But I gotta admit, it's nice that we will be able to start our early morning dates again! #swolemates#qualitytime

All of these I have found now with my adult 'squad'. The women I surround myself with have pushed me to greatness.
We have gone through a lot together as business owners, as coaches, as partners and victims of life, not in a tragic sense, but with resiliency.
Transformation is about growing those roots.
What made strong ties then doesn't have to stop in adulthood.
It just makes it even better once you've got time under your belt.
Interesting how Tanya and I have gone 'all in' on our coaching as professionals.
And we're gonna be collaborating tomorrow in Punta Cana on our coach trip.
No reason why you can't be side by side with us too.
I'm learning about a new nutrition plan this week, high fat low carb. It's something different & against what we have normally been taught. Every body is different so what works for one, may not work for others. I'm excited to learn what works for me. I'll be sharing what I learn along the way. This morning I'm working on my meal planning & grocery list for the week. This involves looking up some new recipes. I'm excited to try this with my fit family & accountability partner!

I tweaked my back the other day and I'm hoping rest today improves it.
It's common for me to have an ache and pain due to my compromised spine!
What I do is adjust, modify, ice and rest when needed.

I spent last night and this morning reading through the Ultimate Reset book so I get everything prepped and ready to start Monday.
There are some things that I'm really excited about.
There are some things I am nervous about.
And there are some things I'm going to miss.
This is something I will miss. Although I am excited to give my body some rest time, I will REALLY miss my weight based programs. I'm a true weights girl....I feel the best when CRUSHED it with the weights. But, I'm also wondering what I will say about this 22 days from now.
This reset is going to be a challenge for sure, but one of my favorite quotes is, "If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't CHANGE you." I know my body needs to be refreshed and restored...there are just too many little signs that I need to do this to ignore. So one more day of weight tomorrow and then they get a little rest too! ;)
FAT WILL NOT MAKE YOU FAT!
It's only taken my 43 years to figure that shit out and not listen to the ridiculous food companies. 2 weeks in to my high fat, low carb, intermittent fasting situation and continue to transform. Yes.... I eat freaking FULL FAT foods. .
And now I will consume my coffee with butter in it! Fat for the WIN!
Packing for a trip and tying up loose ends can create a lot of chaos.
And that's why I'm calming it right now.
No better way to start the day then by clearing out all those negative voices which say 'can't' 'won't' 'undeserving' 'inadequate' 'end' 'unlucky' 'bad'
That's all lost in the stillness.
It can be for you too if you just take a moment to protect that part of you.
If you were to ask me what it's like having four kids, I'd show you this picture and say a lot of laughter and silliness, some arguing, high grocery bills, consistent tardiness...but most importantly: a whole lot of love!

When the alarm goes off VERY early on Saturday, all I want to do is 💤😪💤 but....instead, I 🏃🏋💥🎯 And 30 minutes later, I am drenched in sweat, feeling great, and ready to head out for some shopping before today's track meet.
The feeling when I finish? Completely worth the 5 minutes of misery when I first woke up.

Most epic date night ever! We went to the 90's Tour concert to see Salt N Pepa, Vanilla Ice, Tone Loc and more. Of course we couldn't pass up the opportunity to dress the part! Do we look ridiculous? Heck yeah! You can't have fun when you're all uptight and worried about what other people will think. Keeping Portland weird tonight 😂
Victoria and I are headed back to warm weather Sunday.
