Meet: @maryyoungmark I started my journey on 1/10/17 After a lifetime of ups and downs in my weight, a very unhealthy relationship, and a couple deaths in my family I found myself very depressed and lonely. I spent my free time sitting on my couch and eating junk food. I felt so miserable and worthless. I wondered how much farther down I was going to let myself go. On 1/10 I went to the doctor and when I stepped on the scale I couldn't believe my eyes! 310 pounds! I decided right there and then that I had enough, it was time to take my life back and start living. I was so tired of feeling worthless. So from that day on I decided I was going to live a healthy lifestyle. I cut out majority of processed foods and when I reached 40 pounds lost I joined a crossfit gym. This was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The mental transformation that I have made over the past 11 months has been amazing. I have gained so much self confidence and self love. My motivation has definitely been not wanting to ever feel how I felt at 310 pounds again. I hope that my account will inspire people to eat clean and to get up and get moving. I want to remind people that you can do anything you set your mind to. Body positive to me means loving your body no matter what stage of your journey you are on. Staring tip: set small goals for yourself every day and be forgiving. When you fall, just get back up and keep moving forward. #wlstories . . . So while my bench was getting stronger over the last few months it felt like my deadlift and squat were stagnant. Now that my squat and deadlift are getting stronger now I feel like my bench is stagnant 🤷🏻‍♀️ Guess we can’t expect to break PRs every damn week on each lift, and everyday isn’t going to a great training day. Coach wants me to take two weeks off from powerlifting at the end of December before I head into meet prep, so I get to chase the pumps old school style. Once January hits it’s time to get serious 💪🏽 #powerlifterarch #cheaterarch #benchpress

You don’t have to do crossfit to be healthy or fit, but you do have to find exercise that ignites you and makes you excited to workout! And for a long time crossfit did that for me before I let other things take precedent! .

After I had my son nothing fit.  I remember this being the ONLY thing I could find to wear to a family party in FL that I felt somewhat decent in. This was my time traveling with the family after having my baby. If you know some of my story I was solely nursing and felt like I couldn’t keep up so I was drinking teas and herbal supplements to improve my milk supply.  It worked for a bit but side effects were excessive weight gain for me. .

I wasn’t eating healthy, wasn’t my watching what I ate, going through post-partum depression.  Meanwhile I had a VERY healthy pregnancy and ate healthier than my first pregnancy.  I don’t have the perfect #snapback story. .

I had nursed with what felt like all day and night.  I was drained and always tired, back at work by this point...wearing leggings to work because nothing fit right!!! I gave up on dressing up and honestly this dress on the left could’ve been cute...but I wasn’t even trying.  I didn’t care much either.  To be quite honest I didn’t think my girls would ever recover and “sit right” after nursing two babies. 1st 👶🏽 for 18mths and 2nd 👶🏾 for 11mths BUT the way my transformation and FAVOR is set up they’ve lifted naturally 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 and beautifully.  My breast feeding moms know what I’m talking about🙋🏾‍♀️. It didn’t happen over night it took me some time to get it right but I’m so pleased with my overall wholeness transformation thus far ✨🙏🏽✨

And THIS is that momboss life I’m always raving about! ❤️ Elin hasn't napped in years, but when she wakes up at 3:00 a.m. for the day, I insisted on it.  So, I'm getting a few hours to myself on working to build a successful and lucrative lifestyle coaching business from the comfort of my couch. 💻 
Typically I'd get my hustle on in my office, but wanted to enjoy our lit tree and White Christmas on in the background (cheesy I know, but my favorite). My long term vision for success will come from a series of short-term sacrifices I make throughout the day... - waking up at 5:00 a.m. to get my workout in and some work done before the morning school routine for the boys starts.
- rocking Elin's movie time hustle every day because every second counts. - setting up Elin her own office so that she can "work" right by me.  She actually refers to herself as a Diamond Coach now. 💜
- staying up late to work on what I didn't finish during the day.
- spending only one hour (if that) with Rich each night (thankful he joins me for our early morning sweat sesh). I'm willing to make these sacrifices now because my family matters to me and I have BIG goals for us in the future.  And those sacrifices allow me to be present with Elin during the day, and volunteer in the boys classrooms as well!

So, if you're telling yourself that you can't accomplish the things you want, look at how you're spending your time.  Make the sacrifices now, so you can enjoy the blessings later.  Just a little advice from a mom on a mission with a plan that works (for me 😉)!

So, I skipped yesterday’s workout. Went to yoga on Sunday. Today I did #21DF #UpperBodyFix. Had to push through some anxiety to finish it, but I did. This time of year always triggers it for me-stresses of the holiday-money and family, lots of end of year reflection, thinking about the future. I have to remind myself to make time for self care. Before my week went downhill last week, I had a very emotional and proud moment with my overhead presses. Since this week is a do-over, today was shoulder day and those overhead presses were a success!! I wasn't just feeling lucky last Tuesday, it was just pure determination. 👊 Progress is so satisfying 💪 .

Holy moly! Over 27,000 lbs lifted today for leg day! I really pushed myself today and even though I almost puked and I'm already sore I'm so glad I did! I also have broken my 2 month plateau in the last week! Hooray! I'm more excited for the reason I broke it than the actual fact itself because that means that my gut is healing! It means that my diligence in taking the supplements I've implemented, sticking to my whole food nutrition and not over exercising (something that is really easy for me to) is paying off! Besides the broken plateau I've noticed I feel less psycho and more normal WITHOUT exogenous ketones which is huge! Don't get me wrong, I think therapeutic ketones are excellent, but my issues needed to be remedied not just masked. I still love them-im just not relying on them.

{new} Nourishing Crockpot Vegetable Soup 🌱 🍲☃
Over the past few days it has turned very cold in Salt Lake City! The air quality is super yucky & many are getting sick.
Throw this in the crockpot + keep some in the refrigerator to help you stay warm, and healthy this Winter season!
makes about 6 servings 
Ingredients: 
10 oz. new baby potatoes, cut in quarters 
2 cups organic carrots 
1 1/2 cup frozen organic garden peas 
4 celery ribs, sliced 
1 cup chopped fresh green beans 
1 golden beetroot, peeled and diced 
2 small red bell peppers, seeded and chopped 
2 fresh garlic cloves, minced 
1 yellow, or red onion, chopped
3 dried bay leaves 
4 cups vegetable broth 
sea salt and fresh ground black pepper, to your taste 
2 heaping Tbsp fresh thyme leaves

Instructions: 
Place all ingredients in a large crockpot, give a little stir, and cook on LOW for 6-7 hours 
or HIGH for 3-4 hours.
Remove bay leaves.
Even tastier the next day! 
Enjoy!

Good morning!!☀️ Mike stayed home from work today and took Wiggles to our parent child class, so I actually got to workout in peace & quiet for once!! It was so much easier🤣. Anyway as I mentioned before, I am gearing up to start a brand new 80 day fitness & nutrition program in January. One that will require serious commitment and FOCUS for the entire 80 days (😬gulp). Am I scared to commit? Yeah!! But let me get clear on something: following a specific nutrition and workout program the way it was designed does NOT require me to deprive myself, diet, or be overall miserable😫. Instead, I'll be focusing on the POSITIVES that will come from completing this program: I'll be nourishing my body with foods that help it function better and give me more energy, clarity, and better digestion. I'll be challenging my body with daily workouts that will undoubtedly change my physique, but more importantly will change my MINDSET. Completing something even when you want to quit is empowering and energizing⚡️...even though it's not always fun in the moment. So yes it's scary to commit to something like this, especially in the midst of life's chaos. But rather than say that I simply CAN'T focus on something else or add another thing to my plate, I am choosing to get laser focused on my health and mindset for 80 days because I know that when I do that, I am SO. Much. Better in all other areas of my life. But like I said, I can't do it alone!! Leg Day is always my favorite!! 💪🏻🍑🤗 I train legs 2x a week. I do one heavy leg day and the second leg day I usually split with back because I train back 2x a week as well. I generally focus on compound movements for leg and back and I work on proper form, and increasing the amount of weight I use. The beauty in “off season or bulking” is feeling stronger and having increased energy levels. I am able to hit PR’s again and complete my workouts without feeling fatigue during them. I’ve never been a cardio queen, this girl lovesssss to lift 💪🏻 •

Followed by a WidowMaker 
1 giant set of 20 @ 75 lbs (decrease weight 25-30%) could barely stand after about 17 of these bad boys 😬 💥Deadlifts💥 
3x10 at 95 lbs (a little lighter than my normal) 💥Leg Press💥 (feet wide apart) 
3 sets of 12 @ 353 lbs (way light for me) 
1 set until failure @353 lbs. (ended up doing 30) 💥hip abduction💥 
3 x12 @ 110 lbs 💥reverse hip adduction 💥 
3 sets 15 @ 70 lbs
