I regret a lot of things in my life. I regret not having done better in college, entering into a relationship that I knew was destructive, and putting up with negative people for too long. I regret my choices in life. To have the feeling of regret is one of the worst feelings because there's nothing we can do about it. It’s all in the past. It’s gone. No matter how much we want to change something, we can’t.
I‘ve heard gurus say things like “Live without regrets!” or “Don’t regret anything!” or "Never regret a day in your life!” But I still feel that there were things I shouldn’t have done and things I should have done differently. So to help me with getting over regret, I started writing this blog post — to begin to live with no regrets. By the end of the post, I hope I’ll have internalized most of my own advice. I hope that both you and I will be able to say "I don’t have a single regret in my life!”
The thing about regret is that we only feel it because we now know better. We’ve grown. We realize our mistakes because we’ve matured. To think about it in another way is that it’s better to have regrets than not to have matured at all. So it will be useful to start feeling thankful while work hard today to not end up with more regrets in the future. Here are some useful tips for you to start living life without regrets.
