9 Public transport: In Quito it is madness. During the day the traffic is brutal and the buses are packed. At peak hours if you drop a coin it will have trouble reaching the ground. In other cities it is normal and you can take a breath while traveling to your destination.
Buses from city to city are alright, a bit tiny for tall people, but you can still have a nap on a night ride. We were impressed by the number of products being sold in a bus. In Colombia we had people hoping on to offer mostly fruits, drinks and some snacks - things you would consume while you travel - in Ecuador, except the mentioned ones, we saw a guy offering hairdryiers, another one was selling toothbrushes, third one with pencils and pens (and he sells all 10 of them together - you can't buy a single one) and we even had a comedian (obviously selfclaimed) hoping on board. We would say this is an attraction, but it is not quite the case as these people are doing it out of poverty.
As conditions of the buses, there is nothing bad that can be said and they kept the temperature normal unlike the freezing air-conditioners in Colombian transport. Not to forget - in Amazon boats are a common transport, but at high price. Rate - 6.5 (both)
