Ok, an introduction is LONG overdue. So here we are. My name is Courtney Elsbury. I am 24 and live in Utah. 🏔 I’ve been married 2 years to @elsburyjustin and have a baby girl named Rosemary! I have a homemaker soul, so you’ll find me in the garden or fermenting things in my kitchen. I am a wannabe yogi 🧘♀️ if I could live anywhere, it would be Denmark. And if I could change one thing about myself, it would be that I’d have MUCH better posture! I always catch myself hunched over whatever I am working on. Yikes. Is there an oil for that? Ha. 🐪 #nicetomeetyou
I went on my first small trek in mid-20s. After that I urged, to climb more! Then in October 2016, while deciding where to go on our next trip, I insisted on trekking to Triund. But then, one of my himachali friend suggested me to trek to llaka. It is a couple of hour's steep trek ahead of Triund and that place would be much less crowded and peaceful.
After this trek, I wanted more. Then in December 2016 only, I planned my next trek to kheerganga.
And I fell in love with climbing mountains.
Now, it's been a year that I have been trekking and undoubtedly loving it! ❤️
While trekking, I realised I could push my body further than I thought! I could feel stronger than I ever was. I felt so connected with the captivating nature around me. I loved every bit of all my treks, the trippy trails, the delightful lush-green jungles, the dogs, the people you meet, the simple food you eat, everything! You get to see so much beauty while trekking. And when you reach the top of the mountain, that feeling my friend, is darling!
And then, you realise that you're in process of becoming a best version of yourself!
I feel that trekking has changed me as a person over the past year. My mind feels free to wander and I do not feel fear to travel solo anymore, to trust strangers and the unknown! I believe I’ve grown more patient, become more understanding, accepting and still improving!
Trekking is like meditation to me! 🙃
When Thailand gives you temples, you explore them. Ayutthaya has dozens of archaeological temples set in the heart of a modern city that you can walk and bike through. Plus, they’re just a short, cheap train ride away from Bangkok! #ayutthaya#amazingthailand
