As the cover photo for this video shows, I’m just trying to give you a big hug of movement love on this beautiful day. We’ve been working on the spine and hips so let’s not forgot about those lovely amigos down south called the knees. Get about fist width apart on the knees and bring them around full circle with a little but of lockout of the knees when coming back to home around. Be gentle on yourselves and do your research too. I’m m not the gospel nor the choir nor the steeple nor the people. I’m just here to spread my truth and some movement love for you on the daily. If I did open a movement church that would be dope though and all peoples would be welcome, especially you loyal legionaries of movement that are following along with @notfromcolorado and I daily. 🛋Em uma sociedade que passa a maior parte do tempo sentada (cadeiras, veículos, sofás, etc.), será que não confundimos o conforto e a boa sensação de manter-se longos períodos sentados com BEM-ESTAR??
⠀
Apesar de o descanso ser algo necessário e benéfico, o excessivo tempo nesses acessórios para sentar nos mantém em períodos prolongados na mesma posição, e isso é um fator de risco para dores músculos-esqueléticas, encurtamentos, tensões e desequilíbrios na nossa estrutura.
⠀
➡️Uma excelente estratégia está mais perto de nós do que imaginamos. O CHÃO. Sentar no chão sempre fez parte da nossa história evolutiva, e a grande possibilidade de variações e mudanças de posições que costumamos efetuar quando estamos nele é o que o torna tão incrível para a saúde e equilíbrio das nossas estruturas corporais.

Talvez no início não seja tão confortável, porém como eu disse acima, o conforto hoje é confundido com algo benéfico, e nesse caso longos períodos na mesma posição tem se mostrado fator de risco de diversos problemas de saúde.

EXPERIMENTE algumas dessas posições e outras que quiser, as possibilidades são milhares.

My plans to drive up to @bouldermovementcollective for my(mostly regular)Sunday movement session got thwarted by the snow and crumby road conditions. Instead, I moved my furniture out of the way and made the best of it. Warmed up with some spinal work, played with some new locomotive patterns I picked up this week, worked my handstand drills, and finished with some bent arm strength/balance. Happy Monday! Have you noticed that sitting in stillness can be hard sometimes? Like anything though, it gets easier with time. This practice is so good for the mind, connection with the breath, letting go of mental chatter, practicing acceptance, improving concentration and sleep. Not to mention so many other things! I have to remind myself of these benefits and try to commit to a more regular practice. That’s this week’s goal 🙏🏼 Come slow down the breath and cultivate stillness with me this week:

Brutal Lower Body Workout. Give it a try. 3-5 Rounds. 1A. Double KB Deadlifts x6. 1B. Sissy Squats x8. 1C. Rings Hamstring Curls x10. 1D. Bulgarian Split Squats x12 each leg. Rest 10 seconds between exercises and 2-3 minuets after each round. Canes are not provided after the workout 😝😂

🤹‍♂️ On a serious note though guys the point here is that just because you missed a part or all of your workout doesn't mean you have to count it as a loss. 1 is always greater than 0. Just make sure you get something in. It will pay off 😁
