This is an MT2 drill chuck. It fit just fine in the tailstock for drilling out blanks. Unlike a drill press, the wood spins while the drill bit is stationary. That's how most people use it but there are applications for use in the headstock as well. It didn't fit, so it was put on the grinding stone. It was so sharp it looked like a round nosed scraper. The edges were feathered on the 1x30 to avoid scratching the morse taper on the lathe.
