Little bit of a #motivationmonday because I am in need!  And maybe you are too ❤️ On the left in the first photo I have no idea what I weighed, as I avoided scales like the plague and didn't look at the numbers when my doctor weighed me and then scolded me about the result.  My first recorded weight was May 9, 2013 at 335, so I am assuming this photo is around the same weight, I'm really not sure. This would have been in about 2012 when I worked at a plus sized clothing store. Tried to get as close to the same angle as I could.  Like I said, I don't recall what I weighed, but I do remember that that shirt was a 4XL. I hated that thing SO much and only bought it for an event at work, hence the goofy bow tie.  Literally never wore it again 😂 Recently I have been finding it VERY difficult to see any changes in my body, but yesterday my best friend in the whole wide world sent me a photo of her side by side and I was blown away.  She said that I needed a side by side to really see it, and I'm glad I did it cause whoa! How did I live like that? I still have a ways to go to get to where I want to be but I'm more than willing to do the work to get there. Taking the extra time to set myself up for a quality prep is the best thing I could have done (even though I was little fussy in the beginning) a huge thanks goes to @allencress_ifbbpro for always keeping me in check!

Oh man, what a rough couple of weeks, I fell off hard. Went through a break-up, moved to a new apartment, working overtime non stop. I gained  14 lbs from the stress of it all. I am barely starting to feel like myself again. Not quite starting from zero but close enough, it's going to be a long and hard road back. Here's to getting back on the horse again🥂 
for lunch I have veggie nuggets (taste just like chicken!) And half a baked sweet potato. Very filling lunch at 291 calories, don't worry I have a big breakfast and decent dinner. It all works out lol 😋

The downfall of most calorie trackers: They mentally prioritise their DAILY calorie and macro count too much, and eventually 'fall off the wagon' because they find it too tough to get it spot on. Here's the average of my macros for the last seven days. Pretty proud of myself at how accurate I've managed to keep it! I'm posting this to show my clients (online and in person) that it isn't impossible to meet your calorie and macronutrient targets, with a little prep and organisation. (I know it's a headache but it's a necessary evil) A common misconception is that your body kind of.. 'resets' every day and you have to get in your macros perfect again the next day like some kind of robot. That's not the case. If you go over on your carbs on Monday and Tuesday, it's not the end of the world, just be sure to be under on your carbs on Wednesday and Thursday. Your daily calorie and macro consumption is important, your weekly is even more important, and your monthly more important still!.. you get the message. Consistency is key, but don't lose sleep over messing up a day or two. 801 calories for dinner, homemade Shepards pie with veg and gravy . Rather high mostly due to having to use a high fat mince as all we have in but I've only eaten this and lunch today and little to no appetite today. So it's all good. 👌

All jokes aside, logging and writing down data is absolutely invaluable because it helps to remove the discrepancy between:
Ⓐ What you THINK you're doing
AND
Ⓑ What you're ACTUALLY doing

Case in point, various studies have shown that there are huge differences in reported vs actual food intake, as well as reported vs actual amounts of exercise performed (one study showing a ~50% underreporting of food intake, a HUGE amount). X
However, if things are properly logged for a period of time (do it as you go as much as possible, rather than retrospectively!), we are made aware of the realities of what is actually going on, rather than be disillusioned with thinking we are "being good" or that we "eat pretty well" yet can't understand why we aren't losing fat.

Provided you're being honest with yourself and being as meticulous and accurate as is reasonable, the data will not lie, and you can correlate between calorie intake, exercise output and weight loss (or lack of sometimes!).
