Happy Wednesday ๐Ÿ™Œ Still feeling relatively lean, despite not being able to train as eat the way I'd like, but I'm aiming to squeeze in an upper body session this eve after the library ๐Ÿ’ช can't wait for these exams to be done ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿป A couple of people have been asking me if I track my macros and why, and also whether I track them at uni, so thought I'd address that!

Yes I do track my macros, even at uni, however I'm not currently trying to hit specific macros ! The only thing I'm focusing on is mainly making sure I that I continue to hit the amount of protein I need for the day, keeping my fats relative low, around 50 g or under, and I'm also now currently focusing on slowly upping my carb intake by including more low GI carbs in my diet! So I am still weighing all my food and logging it on MyFitnessPal, even at uni, however, I'm just not being super strict with the amounts, the only thing I am still sticking to is ensuring that I still keep my calorie intake at a deficit. My calorie intake for the day will vary depending on whether I've trained etc, and how many steps I've taken, which I monitor on my Fitbit!

Tracking macros definitely isn't something that is necessary to get the results you want! So many people are able to eat healthy and intuitively, which is great if that works you! I don't really struggle with eating healthy foods, the only thing I struggle with is my portion sizes (my eyes are deffo bigger than my stomach ๐Ÿท), so for me tracking and weighing my food ensures that I don't go over my calorie intake for the day, as well as making sure I'm not going over my carb and fat intake which easily done! I do really recommend tracking your food in MyFitnessPal if you're just starting your fitness journey and looking to improve your diet, as actually it can be quite eye opening to see what foods you're eating too much of and whether you are consuming too many calories etc, then from there you can consciously change and tweak what you are eating to get the results you're after!
