Sometimes school gives me more bags under my eyes than a grocery store. Today in class we were discovering the amount of PA minutes each person puts in per week. Naturally I raise my hand when he mentions 250-300 min per week. For me that's about 5 days a week. Standard. And apparently I shocked a lot of people. For most, going to the gym feels like a chore. For me my life doesn't feel the same without it 🤷🏼♀️ I couldn't imagine going 3 days without working out, let alone a month. My number one leisure activity is working out. Whether it be hitting the gym, going for a run or going for a walk. Catch me at it 5-6 days a week. Throw me into the mix of being a student but don't categorize me as someone to drink every night and be on the fast food kick. Catch me at the gym at 5:30 am and eating my meal prepped meals for dinner and oatmeal for breakfast. Call. Me. Crazy 💁🏼🤷🏼♀️ #uofanutrition#nutritionstudent#yegfitfam#yegfit#fitfam#fitnessfam#fitnessmotivation#fitnesslife#fitnesslifestyle#fitlifestyle#fitlife#fitspo#myhealthjourney#myfitnessjourney#fitstudents#fitbarista
Food for thought: arm balances and life are a lot alike. A successful arm balance, much like a successful life, is all about the preparation. We believe that when you set yourself up for success, magic happens. If you agree, comment below your favorite emoji!
I have so many thoughts running through my head that even praying is hard because my mind was hard at work thinking of a game plan for our mom! So, when I got to work, I walked over to the back window of our dept and saw the beautiful sky & scenery and felt it as God's way of saying "it will all be ok. Trust Me."
❤️ Our mom has progressive memory loss that started showing up about 6 years ago. My brother & I have been helping her while at the same time allowing her as much independence as possible. We want her to use her brain and continue to do things she is capable of doing!
. ❤️ It's very deceiving because though it's obvious she has memory issues, talking to her doesn't easily reveal the true story. She sounds good, answers our questions like she understands them ... all is good! . ❤️ Until something reveals itself to us that shows us she does need our help. 2 yrs ago she was a victim of a scam that drained her account of about $10k. No clue this was happening until series of events lead us to find out . ❤️ And now personal care and shut off notices are showing us once again that we need to step in more.
She's a very strong, independent lady ... always has been. Traits I've inherited from her. She still shows signs of those traits but they are fading away more and more!
I can complain & be angry but what would that do? It will only rob me of the joys and memories I can create with my mom as we embark on this journey with her. It's not her fault!
And God is faithful all the time & He is allowing this journey to give me/us more opportunities to care for & love our mom. I have no clue what to do or how this will play our. But He knows & that's enough for me 🤗❤️ Thank you for reading. I'll be sharing more as the journey continues 💕
So here's some truth for you. I stepped on the scale this morning it hasn't gone down! In fact, it went up! I felt like I failed.
But the other truth to this is...I put on my pants that always felt a little too snug and they fit well! Like I actually didn't have to wiggle into them or suck in to button them!
Truth is the scale lies. It doesn't tell you how you feel in your clothes or if you are gaining muscle. Our weight fluctuates so much and a scale is never a good gauge on how you feel!
So non scale victory, I feel better in my pants!💪

Paleo Shrimp Cauliflower "Fried Rice" is one of my favorite lighter dinners. Following a paleo based diet has been the biggest contribution to me finding success along my health journey. My body does not process gluten, starch and sugar well at all. In fact, once I eliminated these from my diet I cured myself of PCOS and completely changed my body type. I now get most of my carbohydrates from vegetables, I eat enough protein to maintain my muscle mass and have energy for intense workouts, and I include plenty of healthy fats to keep me full and focused and free of cravings. I don't preach a specific diet and I used to get very uncomfortable when people would ask me specifics on what I eat. I don't want someone to think you have to eat a certain way to lose weight or be lean. What works well for one person won't for another. Finding your own intolerances and where your body thrives is very important. #Nutrition#Health#HolisticHealth#GlutenFree#Paleo#MyHealthJourney#WeightLoss#Fitness#FitFam#Bodybuilding#NYCFit#HealthCoach#DietCoach
Without going into details, a complete stranger said something so simple to me today that made me realise I should give myself more self respect. I've struggled lately with self sabotage and am finding it really hard being so unfit. But I don't think I need 24/7 analysis from myself anymore. I'm not yet where I want to be, but I know I can get there. I'm going on holiday this week and for some reason I've chosen the two weeks before to make sure I look as bad as possible in a bikini. 😂 I actually can see the funny side luckily. I'll be with the one and only person who knows me inside out and knows exactly what I look like so really, what's the problem. I have goals, but I'm going to give myself a break. I've booked three weeks off SW, one for my holiday and two because it's just not what I need right now. I aim to go back in three weeks, off all meds and within target. This is not me giving up, my food and fitness posts will be coming stronger than ever (but I'll maybe give insta a break on my hols!) And thank you to that stranger for being so lovely.
*EDIT: Meds just being antibiotics, nothing serious 😊*
Day 8 of 60 and whoa! A toughie but a goodie
There are a million reason why I love my at home workouts but one of the main ones... it makes me do the hard stuff!
My lower half is my least favorite thing to workout but I like being toned🙄. When I would make up my own workouts, I would totally avoid those areas or skimp on them😣
With my at home workouts I press play and follow the amazing trainers and do what they say for as long as they say and it is definitely paying off😉
DM me and let's get you started with your own fitness and nutrition plan and we can press play and crush goals together!😘
Let's try this again. Week 1, Day 1 of Shift Shop.
Attempted this program weeks ago but never made it past week 2 and wasn't really following the nutrition plan.
Now that my summer events have winded down, I am recommitting myself to my health goals. Particularly focusing on my nutrition.
This part is not easy for me but it's always worth it!
