The START of a watercolour painting today. Although it actually began with a walk down a quiet, tree lined path deep in fallen leaves all in stunning shades of autumn with a stream running alongside. All paintings begin long before pencil and paint touch the paper. These are the things you can't see but I hope can feel.
The sun rise was glorious this morning! 🌞☝️🙌 Got up at 630 to interview Emilio, the owner of El Cortijo Eco Finca, the eco farm I've been staying at in Lanzarote.
These interviews are so good, so touching that I've decided to create a docu series to share with the world who I am meeting and and what I am seeing in order to humanize the people that live in the places that you love to vacation in! There is more to know than pretty beaches and cool Instagram photos in places like the Canary Islands, Reunion, Mayotte, New Caledonia, American Samoa and my own country of Martinique. I plan on showing you the other side of the #islandlife and to create a platform to share islanders' stories. Who's excited to see this???
Two incredible trash hero's on one of our weekly clean ups... One of the things I find in working with the villages here is that everyone wants to do better - but they often don't know how to. They can sort their waste but then what? They can pick up the rubbish that washes in from the sea but what do they do with it? Without access to waste management systems there is little choice but burning it or letting it blow into the sea again. #trashherokomodo and @atlaspearls are trying to change that by offering education and support for sustainable waste management.
