I created a new pinterest board called "For the love of Rust" to help get my colour juices flowing (see link in profile). Are you still engaging with Pinterest? I kind of dropped it for a while there, but I had a lot of fun creating my latest boards.
In Oaxaca, palm artisans weave baskets, hats, fans, floor coverings (petates), tote bags and more. It’s amazing what talent and experience can do with dried palm. Stay tuned for more palm products coming to Modela. 🙌🏽 #shopmodela
I think about this attitude choice all the time. Sometimes it feels like I just can’t control it, hormones, situations, kids, husband ... but the truth is, I can. I’m going to work on this so much harder this year because your attitude really does determine your altitude. I need to stop letting situations control me. Life is mostly uncontrollable, right? What I CAN control is how I respond to it. Kind of like how I respond to someone giving me a quote of 21k to replace my hvac system. I can laugh or cry, so laugh it is. 😊

People often ask me how I keep my house so clean with two little ones, and my answer is that I shove all the mess behind the camera lol. I honestly miss living in a smaller space just because it was so much easier to clean haha! I am constantly following my little “tornados” around and cleaning up after them. I do it so much that I now enjoy it and find cleaning relaxing! Lol! Here is a perfect example of some of the stuff I pick up on the daily (swipe). Our son is obsessed with animals and here he uses my coasters as their watering holes and my vases as trees! He has quite the imagination! Usually those pillows are all over the place, so I did put them all back for the photo, but you get the idea!
Though I wish I could say these were my strokes, alas they are actually a closeup of a detail I loved in a Matisse work showing at the Kimball in Fort Worth. I sometimes forget how inspiring it can be to take in others’ work and spend some time getting lost in a museum. New goal for the year? Visit more museums.
GOING GREEN ~ DAY 15 ~
I only have one green thing in my home, except for my plants and it is this green bedspread.

I worked in Switzerland for a summer many years ago, and I remember confusing a fellow teacher from the Southern US who called what we Canadians call a "toque" a "toboggan". Has anyone else heard of this, or is my memory just gone a little haywire?
