Although i did enjoy it like i have every film in the X-Men franchise i was actually pretty disappointed with X-Men Apocalypse. Plenty of characters felt underdeveloped or underutilized like Jubilee (didn't do anything at all), Archangel, Storm, Psylocke and Nightcrawler. Psylocke hardly had any dialogue but was still cool during the climax fight. Apocalypse was very underwhelming in my opinion. Which is dissapointing to say because of the caliber of the actor playing him Oscar Isaac. Magneto's scene with his family around the beginning of the film is kind of emotional and it does make you feel for him. Again a great performance from Michael Fassbender. Cyclops and Jean Grey were both enjoyable and I'm excited to see what future films hold for them. Quicksilver’s scene was fun. I just hope this is it for those type of scenes. We don’t need the same scene every movie just for the sake of it. We get it. He’s fast. Surprisingly there wasn't an overload of Jennifer Lawrence as the trailers for this made it seem. Although it's still weird watching Mystique in a role model/ hero type role. Even though i think Bryan Singer has made some great X-Men films I’m glad they’re letting someone new direct the next one. The common thing throughout his X-Men films is how undeveloped or misused a lot of the characters are. Look how better Colossus was under Tim Miller. It’s so disappointing we went from such an amazing film in X-Men Days of Future Past to this one. Apparently Magneto is the “Loki” of the X-Men franchise. Fox doesn’t know whether they want him as a villain or hero. X-Men Apocalypse gets a C- from me.
