S W I P E — to get a dose of the last TWO. YEARS.
I’ve had so much going on lately that it just clicked for me that this Friday marks two years of super high ups, major downs, hard work, sacrifices, fucking up (then starting all over again), victories, stalls, tears, doubts, celebrations, being an imperfect bariatric patient and most importantly — trying to figure this life after vertical sleeve gastrectomy (VSG) thing out the best that I can.
Two years ago (at nearly 300 pounds), I had a procedure that helped me change my life by not only transforming my body, but challenging me to open up as a person, introducing me to opportunities that I would’ve never dreamed of and giving me the chance to connect with this unbelievable community. I’m so beyond thankful for you guys and I can’t imagine having gone through the past two years without the motivation and inspiration that I’ve received here. To know that people (many of whom I’ve never met) are rooting for my success is something that I’m endlessly grateful for. I’ve lost 100 pounds and gained an incomparable support system and I appreciate you guys so much for that!
To the newbies, stay focused on what YOUR goals are for yourself and know that this journey is FAR from easy, but absolutely worth it. I had (and have) plenty of bumps and bruises, but one of the most important things I’ve learned during this journey is to love yourself for who you are every step of the way. Also, never stop trying your damndest — because even when I stumble, I definitely don’t plan to.
Here’s to two years down and a lifetime to go. 💪🏾 (Side note: If I’d realized how those day before surgery photos would haunt me, MAYBE I would’ve at least taken my bonnet off 🤷🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️😂)

Flashback Friday 🚨🚨🚨 If you want to make a change do it for the right reasons! Do it for you and to better your quality of life!! 🙌🏽 I was always happy big, I loved my life and my size never bothered me.... so a lot of people ask why did I choose to lose weight??? 😊 I did it by making the decision to get healthy, fit and be a better version of myself! And with that mental change and new healthy lifestyle put in to place the weight loss came second 💯 You can do this too, no matter if it’s 5kg, 15 or 50.... you really can do this with no surgery, crap detoxes or diets, starving yourself or silly weightloss pills... all which don’t work for the long haul, they may help for 2-4 weeks but I’m talking real long lasting results! 👍🏽 Witg a good attitude, determination, willpower mixed with lots of activity and good food I lost 63kg in 2 years with no help from anyone and learning to love my new life keeping it off! 😘 It’s not rocket science or some magic secret, it’s down to you and how bad you want it!! And the first step is knowing 200% that you can do this!
I haven't been recording my workouts lately or even posting very much. Things have been really busy as I'm sure you all are too. However, just because I'm not posting or as active on here lately does not mean that I've quit. I'm still getting my workouts done and my eating has been really good!
I'm feeling good about things and am thinking about goals that I'd like to accomplish not only in the new upcoming year but how I want to finish this one.
I can’t even begin to explain how much I love this quote 💕 I’m going to let you in on a little something I’ve been contemplating, a whole 1️⃣8️⃣0️⃣ yep you read that right. I love them way I feel when I’m following the #whole30 guidelines. As some of you know hubs and I completed a whole 💯 at the beginning of last year so it’s something I feel that’s totally doable. Easy? Heck no. Worth it? F*^k yes 😊☺️ my goal is for this to become our lifestyle, a way we eat on a daily basis not just some plan we follow for X amount of days and then return to eating like 💩. If you have never done a round of whole 3️⃣0️⃣ I can’t recommend it enough. It’s not a diet by any means it’s a lifestyle change, the way I feel I can’t put into words. I will try later because I feel bad I haven’t shared a recap but since it’s almost day 5️⃣0️⃣ I will do that soon 😊☺️ #whole30until2018
First and foremost, is sorry for my appearance in this photo and that I'm always posting fitness journey updates! What I'm about to say may not be a big deal to some, but it is a HUGE deal to me. First, in this picture I am wearing a pair of jogging pants I have not been able to wear since my sophomore year of college (5 years or so) 🙌 Next, and probably the one that made me extremely emotional is, I took a picture of myself in my over the door mirror and ALL OF ME fit into the photo. My arms weren't chopped off or my hips! I've never been able to take a full length photo of me in this mirror cause I was too big! So thankful for Bootcamp and what all it and those that have pushed me have done for me so far! Three weeks left in the year. It takes 21 days to create a habit. Are you going to utilize your time correctly and create a habit that leads you to success in the new year? Or are you going to continue with your excuses.
If your resolution is to start your fitness journey on January why not start now? There is literally no excuse you can come up with RIGHT now that will magically disappear next year. DROP the excuses and START creating these habits TODAY. .

The people in my group are diverse from beginners to competitors, people who struggle with anxiety depression eating disorders, but one thing is in common with ALL of us we are endlessly supportive of anyone who enters the group. Have you ever had a moment where you sit back and look at your life and realize how truly blessed you are. I am at a place in my life where I can buy my family Christmas presents, I can afford my bills and I have a roof over my head. I have a dog that loves me unconditionally and some of the most supportive and caring friends ever. And I think seeing the homeless yesterday in the city really put into perspective how lucky I am, and how blessed I am to just be able to have a warm home to sleep in. I feel blessed and loved and that’s all that matters to me 🎄
