I want to talk about INTENTION 🙆🙇💙
Its weird (ok, its not "weird" ...its freaking awesome... but you know what I mean😉😆😊)
... I was doing yoga and meditating a while back and I got this whisper...
LIVE YOUR LIFE WITH SINCERITY, SIMPLICITY AND INTENTION
As a freediver, I am very aware of our intention TO CHOOSE LIFE. .
🐬As divers we take a deep breath and immerse ourselves deep deep deep down into the secret of the water...
🐬And then we choose to turn, and kick for the surface... to come back and take a breath and live.🎈
And as yogis?🙇
Do you know how LUCKY we are to bring our hands in prayer so often?
The Prayer (Anjali) Mudra is a simple yet powerful hand position and can be used in your practice and in daily life. Anjali itself means “offering.” The beauty of this gesture, which positions us right at the core of our being, is timeless and universal 🙇
As an Ashtangi I come to this pose too many times in class to count... as I bring myself through a vinyasa, back to Samasthiti, I cannot help but touch my hands in prayer (dont tell the Ashtangi Police please😉😂🙈) .
You dont have to say it... but each time, I hear the whisper into the Universe... THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.
Living a life of gratitude.❤💙💚💛💜💖
Nothing wrong with that right?

Day 10 #savasana
I am so happy knowing our last day of #LaidBackYogis of 10-days #YogaChallenge is practicing Savasana. My teacher kept remind me that this also part of the asanas which matter most in practicing a yoga. 🌾
It’s a good idea to remind yourself that you’re human, and that rest is part of your jam. 💖 .

Missing our favorite country @costaricaofficial tonight as I sit in my bathtub and imagine the touch of the warm ocean water 🌊 Someday we will call this place our second home...just like I used to say someday I’d be right here, in this very moment ✨ #manifestation#puravida#travel#costarica#yogavideo#ocean

SPECIAL POST COMING OUT!!! Life, while a journey that must be travelled and experienced by ourselves and through ourselves, is much more pleasant in good company, regardless of the times. Be thankful to those who have played a role in your life. Without them, you won't be who you are today.
Definitely not the best free standing handstand I've done, but I would trade perfect alignment for a good laugh and a chance to grow in good company any day. A little post practice shanannegein with @lattepig @jc_azure @risa_alt . 📷 @amanda201309
#hanumanasana is becoming a long journey 🐒I'm not quite there yet, my alignments a little off but I'm finally grounded. It's one heck of a pose and needs to be given time and consideration. I've been hovering a inch from the floor for a long time now and needed to mentally let go there rather than physically. I spent an hour, at least, warming up with asana before even trying the splits, then I held at my edge on blocks breathing deeply until I could feel my body inviting me deeper. I'll be working more with splits over the next few weeks as a feel now that I'm almost there (after so long) that I need consistency to finally achieve this pose and be able to reach my arms overhead and adjust the hips a little more forward. What about your splits journey? 😊🙏🏼
Can you see the divine in all beings? Can you see the divine plan in all experiences? At times it is hard to see, hard to believe...difficult to trust...but know the divine plan still exists- divinity is in all things....sometimes so hidden that one cannot see- especially not with our natural eyes. But our natural eyes can only perceive this world, the illusions, the limitations...not the deep truth that can only be seen with our divinity. There is the story of Job in scripture. Job had a good life- wealth, a big family, many servants and a good relationship with God. His faith was challenged by Satan though, who was sure that Job only praised and believed in God because Job had a wonderful, fulfilling life. So Job had a great attitude when everything went well. Satan bit with God that when Job had to suffer, Job would loose his faith. That is often our test, as well. We can believe, when all is going well...but what if it isn't...? So Job lost his wealth, his family and health... "His wife said to him, “Are you still maintaining your integrity? Curse God and die!” He replied, “You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?”
In all this, Job did not sin in what he said."(Job 2) ...that is the question to all of us: when you loose everything and do not know the reason...and it does not make sense...will you keep your integrity? Will you still have faith? Will you curse God or praise Him? No ones faith should depend on outer circumstances! Will you still praise God? Job endured and kept his faith, despite many challenges! ...
"And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends; also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before." (Job) It really pays off to keep the faith!
Good energy, yes please! Can we get some more of that? Those moments when things flow naturally ☘ and the universe works its magic. A person. A passion. Doing something with purpose. Today is a perfect day to think a bit less. Feeeeel and trust the vibes. Happy Saturday! ☀
Veera means courage and Bhadra means good.
Drishti (focus): at the tip of your thumbs. Both feet are strongly grounded and the knee is directly in the line of gravity with your ankle. Also ensure the pelvis is low and in line with your front knee. The navel is slightly tucked in and squeeze the inner groin muscles (or clench the pelvic floor muscles) to initiate and preserve Apana energy.
When Apana is weak and not restored we become susceptible to illness, fear, doubt, confusions, insecurities and loss of purpose. And this is how Yoga is different from any other form of exercise.
In veerbhadraasana we essentially work on building Apana energy.
When Apana is strong and balanced, it roots and grounds us, and it works best with our immune system. It also encourages the elimination of waste from our bodies. This asan works on strengthening your knees, ankles, thighs, calves, basically the entire lower body but above all if performed with all the bandhas it gives you courage and resilience on a spiritual level.
Holy crow! It's day 6 #CrowFever with today's challenge: CROW transition to FIREFLY... I've decided to work with funky fingertip "firecrow" /--a hybrid asana with one leg in crow, and the other in firefly. Fingertips may seem difficult at first, as far as balance is concerned, but they also help give leverage to help lift the firefly leg.
Be sure to check in with ALL hosts and their options for tonight @beahappyamy @ettliv.yoga @susanbishopyoga @kianangyoga @sharasklar 🙏🏻 Big love to our sponsors today 🙏🏻 SPONSORS:
spent the last few hours of our layover thinking about how cool it is that this airport had trees and a waterfall in the middle... come to find out that you can actually go out there! EVERY airport needs this. Fresh air (and greenery) for the win. #HappyNen
Ever since I was little, I felt like shyness was a personal defect that I had to overcome. But I now feel that there is something beautiful about shyness, even though in our culture shyness is not considered a virtue. On the contrary, we are encouraged to be direct, look people straight in the eyes, tell them what is on our minds, and share our stories without a blush. But this direct communication quickly becomes boring. Shy people remind us of the mystery of life, and shyness invites us to be reverent of relationships and be wordlessly in love.
Imagine this: you're in a beautiful yoga shala at a hostel built in the middle of the jungle. The sun is shining as you roll out a mat and the yoga class begins. As the class progresses and the sun nears the horison, the jungle starts coming to life. The insects start singing and the fireflies create small glimpses of light around you.
Suddenly you start hearing loud cracks in the distance as a thunderstorm arises. While you're in down dog the whole shala is lit up for a split second as lightning makes the entire sky a bright white.
The flashes of light become brighter and the cracks of thunder start sounding like the entire sky is crumbling down as the storm is getting closer. Still the class continues. As you lay on your back in a supine twist you can feel the temperature dropping and the air getting more humid. Still the class continues. You stretch your legs and lay in the final resting pose Shavanasana. You're trying to remain present but all sorts of thoughts about the storm pop into your head. Still the class continues.
The thunderstorm finally reaches the shala and the rain poors in from the sides as the teacher finally ends class and you pick up your mat in a hurry and run through the rain with the rest of the class to get to the safety of the main building.
My man and I had a very memorable yoga class that day ☀️🤸♂️🦇⛈🍃
