I'm celebrating a little win today for my own self care. I made a tricky decision and pushed some work around and cancelled a few bits to create some breathing space. After working lots of weekends recently and having two big projects on my plate atm I was starting to feel super tired and run down. I knew I needed to give myself a break but sometimes it's hard to admit it. With my work being very seasonal as well I know that I'll be penny pinching over the winter months and part of me pushes myself to earn more to save up for these frugal times ahead. The reality is that I have to work hard not to be a workaholic! Building up a new business that I love does mean more input for a few years with little return, and at this particular moment I'm feeling a bit drained. With my season coming to and end soon and the Hibernation months in sight I am yearning for this deep restful period. My time for rejuvenation is coming soon and meanwhile I've got my herbal friends to help. I've been relying on a heavy adaptogen blend lately. Adaptogenic herbs can help your body cope with stress and increase general endurance.
This beautiful archway of autumnal appreciation was at the #bountifulbotanics event @wakehurst_botanic_garden last weekend. This act of adorning a walkway with foliage brings me huge amounts of joy to see. Full of hops that smell amazing and a great herbal ally to aid restful sleep. Seems fitting.
