Protective styles are great, but....
Yes, it is true that they help our hair grow by reducing breakage.
They allow us to give our hair much needed breaks from constant manipulation.
But there is more.

Beautiful #twistout on a gorgeous natural, @thecurltakeover_
Be inspired to rock your twist-out this week.
👉Remember that one of the keys to a fantastic twist-out is having your ends trimmed and using the right products. She used the leave in conditioner and hair oil by @hairyum.
👉Don't forget to let it set for a day or two. Or, you could use a hood dryer.
Cedar is a tree we love to hate. The culprit behind seasonal allergies better known as cedar fever. Cedar is a popular common name but this tree is actually a juniper. Though many curse it and rage war against this prevalent tree, it has deep ties in history with natives.
Navajos burned the leaves and incorporated the ash into their food to obtain calcium. This ash recipe is called Gad Bit'eesh. Native Americans also smoked the medicinal leaves to help with lung and sinus issues/infections.
Cedar leaves can be made into tea which contains anti-viral compounds (deoxypodophyllotoxin). There are endless counts of people using cedar tea to treat viral based diseases.
The berries can be eaten (sparingly; they can be toxic in quantity) and fermented to make gin.
Make peace with cedar. It is beautiful, it is an incredible source of energy but most importantly it is a healing tree. #makepeace#cedarappreciation#quithating#natureheals
