#curhatdikit#ivfjourney#ivfsuccess#ivfsurvivor#babies#newmom#newborn#ivfbaby
It’s never too early to start reading!
Babies can see when they are first born, but the world is mighty blurry. Their sight is limited to 6 to 8 inches - perfect for a feed or cuddle.
Colour perception is also limited in newborns which is why Black and White books are fantastic. The contrast between the two colours help babies to see better. Simple bold shapes and designs will help your baby to focus and see clearly.
Available soon at Boxcessity in our “Hello World” Box. We have tried and tested products that will help new mothers to make life a little bit easier.
What do you think of Black and White Books?
It's been a while since I had a row so I had a little rant in a baby group today... I think this is an important message, so if you are pregnant or know someone pregnant tag them in. I will happily answer any questions or fight off the haters. SLEEPING BABIES:There seems to be a trend in the 'baby circle*' (*not a real thing) basically saying that if you sleep & feed your baby on a routine you are doing it wrong. I personally think this is a bad message to send to first-time parents. I made no secret on here of my intention to do Gina Ford &no one actually thought we'd stick to it - especially my closest friends haha. Truth is, we did a loose version of Gina, adapted to work with our lifestyle - which involves a lot of being out all the time & travelling... Finn has more or less slept through the night from four-weeks & seems to be extremely happy, confident and not anxious, sobbing lonely in his bed, desperate for affection. There are a lot of myths out there, such as how sleep schedules interfere with breastfeeding, which isn't true & that it means letting your baby cry for hours on end. In truth, Finn rarely cries at all &never at bedtime. I swear he actually gets bored of us & WANTS to go to bed. I don't criticise other parenting decisions (for example, I was too scared to try co-sleeping for fear of squishing!) & I don't compare Finn as a baby or myself as a mum to other parents because I don't actually know that many & that's not really my bag generally tbh. I'm usually happy with the decisions I make & go ahead and do them regardless of what other people think but it does seem to be acceptable in a lot of baby groups to slag off 'evil' parents who decide to try a sleep schedule and make a success of it. That's not on. FOR NOW Finn is a right little snooze monster &it's great for me as a mum because being well-rested gives me energy to play with him all day when he is awake, work & (as much as I can) keep up with my pre-baby life. So yeah, big rant, but if you're looking into different approaches with sleep for your baby, don't be put off by this militant arguement. Do your own research & do what works for your family, without guilt. #ginaford#mumrage
It started long before I fell pregnant. It was the moment I met the man that I knew I wanted children with. That type of love that makes you imagine the future more realistically! I always knew I’d want babies one day but on the 7th October 2007 I knew I wanted his babies… Fast forward 10 years and our gorgeous daughter fills our hearts with the most intense love and connection. That’s why I chose my @palasjewellery charms… A is for Alina, R is for Randall and the love heart in between their names symbolizes them forever in my heart.
