1/'17 Post - New Year, New Me? 👽
When photos remind you of an intimate New Year’s Eve, but what your friends tell you is how you destroyed the club 😅, you’d probably want to forget the riot and only remember what seems right. 😊
But if I learned anything this year, it’s to embrace both the good and the bad. Because I know I can be conflicting things at once. I don’t blind myself with light anymore, I also live above the dark. I can be profoundly in tuned with the universe, but I can also drink (a lot!) and dance.
I am mocked for being spiritual because all they want to see is a hippie doing yoga, reading the sutra, and being cheery 24/7, but true meditation is also the meditation of the bad.
It’s being aware of your bullshit and taming it every time it visits your mind. It’s actually watching your demons pollute your heart, but knowing within that it will pass. It’s more of seeing yourself on a deeper scope than following a certain path.
If I learned anything, it’s that I’m done taking sides, beliefs, and notions of truth to rediscover truth. We don’t have to label differing things as polar opposites all the time. We don’t have to erase an old trail to take another route. We don’t have to lose a friend to a make a new one.
We can never connect if there’s a divide. A rainbow is met when the colors we brand ourselves actually collide.
What I mean is you can be human wanting to change every single year – whatever motivates, whatever propels you to move. As long as you are true to yourself and you know for sure that you are good, you are living your life. Not what society dictates nor what others make of you.
I had lots of inner conversations the past year that made me more courageous to accept what is, and be humble, but still be real. So, if you can talk all day, I urge you to talk to yourself in your quietest time of day. Write your inhibitions. You’ll be surprised of what you really have to say. 😌
To more self-talks and world walks, inner fire and universal love this 2017! Cheers. 🌈
The people who matter most in life will stick by your side, believe in you and support you through thick and thin. Cherish those friendships. Be thankful and keep them close to your heart.
I needed to remind myself today that some people leave because of them, it's not necessarily you (Me).
Hidden Pocket Scarf by www.etsy.com/shop/sewwitcreative
An Infiniti scarf with a hidden zipper pocket to store valuables while traveling or out on the town. The pocket is large enough to fit a passport, smartphone, and small wallet. The fabric is 100% cotton so it is a bit stiffer than most scarves. This is to account for the weight of the items in the pocket so it does not stretch. Like other cotton, it will soften over time after washes. Wash cold with like colors, air dry.
