L.B. Kidd House
I’ve read that it was originally built for a member of the prominent Astor family, but the home came to bear the name of a later owner, L.B. Kidd, a Broadway hat designer. This gorgeous and unique Victorian has been one of my dream homes in Newburgh, so I was devastated to hear that a fire destroyed a significant portion of the house just two nights ago. The house had no working smoke alarms, so the fire spread quickly unchecked. The couple living there escaped safely, but the prospect of saving the house seems bleak
