"I'm originally from a small town in Indiana and moved to LA 14 years ago after a stint in the SF tech industry. I was making a transition into entertainment, and while I wanted to move to a community-rich part of LA, I was not going to have a monster commute on my hands. So Beverly Hills was a happy accident. I didn't know LA or Beverly Hills well. Of course I knew the Beverly Hills brand, but I was quickly surprised at the village-like feel of the community. It really has been a honor getting to immerse myself more and more into the City and to give back. I serve on the Mayor's Technology Committee and I'm one of the leaders of the Next Beverly Hills group. I love the work we do for the next generation of residents. But one of the things I'm most proud of is the mobility advocacy I've been able to help drive during my time here. This week we experienced an enormous sea-change in Beverly Hills. City Council voted unanimously to stripe bike lanes on Santa Monica Boulevard when the construction is completed. I'm committed to honoring our amazing heritage while taking steps to ensure our city is even more livable. Let's move people safely and get them out of their cars and into the village. They'll quickly discover what I did... It's incredible!" @koryklem #peopleofbeverlyhills#nextbeverlyhills#nextgen#beverlyhills#safetyfirst#bikelife#bikestagram#community#mycity#mydayinla#meetyourneighbors#sunnycalifornia#bikela#changemaker#makeadifference#beheard#greenlife#healthandwellness#healthy
You can't spell "Bike Here!" without a 'B' and an 'H'. NIMB(H)Y no more! At last night's Beverly Hills City Council meeting, Council voted UNANIMOUSLY to not only stripe North Santa Monica Boulevard with bike lanes once the reconstruction is finished, but also to adjust lane widths to make all lanes safer as well as ensure that the bike lanes are high vis. We started advocating hard for this project over five years ago, and I can't believe it's finally real. Tremendous thanks to our incredible Mayor @lilibosse1 and John Mirisch who consistently lead the way for more complete streets. I so appreciate the other three council members keeping an open mind and arriving at this decision with such thoughtful deliberation and reason. And most importantly, this could not have been done without the incredible advocacy and leadership of Mark Elliot, Eric Bruins, Rich Hirschinger and host of other local advocates. You guys and gals rule! Finally, as much as it seems like this is about bikes, I can assure you it's not. It's about a stronger, safer, more multimodal city. It's about being a better neighbor and connecting a missing piece of crucial bike infrastructure. It's about tomorrow as much as it is about today. And we're not close to being finished. Now go pump up your tires. In May of 2018 we're all going to get our kicks--and two wheels--on Route 66! Great work, all!! 🚴🏼🚴🏾♀️🚲
"The universe delivered me here 15 years ago. I also have friends & clients here as I run my Financial Consulting business from Beverly Hills. I basically don't leave BH. I can walk everywhere and have everything I need within a half a mile. Parks, Friends, community activities and I have many civic causes that I am passionate about and support here in the City. Beverly Hills has influenced me so much. Because of its "village-esque" infrastructure and spirit, and groups like BHCC, CVB, RDC, etc, it has guided me inward towards more community engagement and valuing & creating deeper relationships (personally and in business). My favorite moment here has been creating, producing and successfully presenting NEXT NIGHT to the City of Beverly Hills in August 2016 with the whole NEXT BEVERLY HILLS team. S. Beverly Drive was infused with excitement and joy, from the kids dancing in the streets to the rest of the community eating, drinking and truly being MERRY!" @iwilmaster #peopleofbeverlyhills#nextbeverlyhills#beverlyhills#nextgen#mycity#mydayinla#meetyourneighbors#whoiswho#community

THE most photographed site in Beverly Hills, our historic lily pond in Beverly Gardens Park, here with its original electrified sign that was used as a real estate attraction beginning in 1907. It could be seen from the Beverly train depot on the southeast corner of Cañon Drive and Santa Monica Boulevard. Newly restored for our city's Centennial in 2014, it's now a part of our landmarked Beverly Gardens Park. This photo is from about 1925.
