Camini: The small village with a big heart!
Nawa, 11, from Iraq and Muskan, 12, from Pakistan share a moment during their Italian language classes at the Jungi Mundo center in Camini, Italy.
Please follow this feed for more photos from this important story posted daily.
Villages in Italy have been losing their populations to larger cities and to emigration since WWII. Camini, one such village, in the southern region of Calabria, has seen its population shrink from 1200 to 250. Meanwhile, in 2016 almost 200,000 refugees arrived in Italy from #Nigeria#Libya#Mali#Ukraine#Ghana#Pakistan#Bangladesh#Iraq#Niger#Gambia#Senegal#IvoryCoast#Sudan and #Ethiopia . In hope of breathing new life into its village, residents of Camini have welcomed more than 80 refugees. Refugees have found a second home in Camini. Several refugees along with natives of Camini are restoring abandoned buildings in order to provide apartments for arriving refugees. Single refugees live with Italian families.
Through the #nonprofit Jungi Mundu (@rosariozurzolo) refugees are finding job training working as assistants and apprentices alongside skilled workers who have lived in Camini their whole lives. Italian language, art, culinary and photography classes are among the activities available for adults and children.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PUPPIES!!
Our puppies are 5 months old today🎉🎈 It's amazing to see how fast they are growing. They are rapidly progressing from their socialisation training to more formal training that will prepare them to be the next generation of Explosive Detection Dogs, helping to save lives in Cambodia and around the World.
Come and learn about the work NORWEGIAN PEOPLE'S AID are doing and how our dogs get trained for the field at the EXPLOSIVE DETECTION DOG SHOW.
Visits at 8:30am and 4pm Monday to Friday.

What is creativity?✍🏼🎨👩🏼🎤👨🏿🎨💃🏻 Is it a personality trait unique to a few geniuses?🎩 Can it only be attributed to musicians, painters or other artists? 👑⠀
No, that's not what I (Alexandra) believe. Like Jones says, it is a "universal capacity" which means it lies within everyone, and it is "socially developed" which means, there have to be triggers that help people develop their creativity. And that is what we do with the art workshops at Kayanga Primary School. We see each and every child as a "Life Artist" who needs space to express him or herself creatively in order to generate the skills that will help him or her to live a fulfilled life.😍 Picture taken by: Tim Kredel
