The island of Ometepe in the middle of lake Nicargua is an island created by 2 volcanos which you can hike. The volcano in the background is called Maderas and is the one we hiked on this trip. It has a cloud forest and a lake formed out of a crater at the top. We also saw and heard howler monkeys on our hike. 🐒This island has so much to offer and the most welcoming people. We spent 3 days here during our trip to Nicaragua... check out part 2 of our blog post on what we did and why we loved it so much! Link in bio.
I picked up a couple books on Spanish. I have 3 yrs until my youngest is 18. I can pick up Spanish curriculum so I can learn to read and write it. Spanish is easy to pick up ... if I get around Spanish speakers, I get the gist of it for the most part. If I go ahead and get my #passport thats half the paperwork right there. I self teach myself to do a lot of things. #nicarauga#southamerica Safety is a relative term. I can get shot and killed around here in an instant so fear of it elsewhere is minimal. #politics#ghetto#hood#libertarian#democrats#government#republicans#liberal it makes me laugh at how many #christians are afraid to die around here😂 #missionstrips#church Many guerrilla fighters and even gang members in those areas will leave people alone who are helping the community ... there is nothing to be afraid of, just mind your own business. Dont bite the hand that feeds you. Simple concept.
Nicaragua is an ideal place to visit for anyone looking for something uniquely different and adventurous. In the heart of Central America, Nicaragua truly deserves the descriptive nickname of “The Land of Lakes and Volcanoes.” Visitors to Nicaragua are able to enjoy the natural beauty of dozens of volcanoes, rivers, and lakes, as well as two oceans.😍 #Mombacho#Granada#Nicarauga#VisitNicaragua#OriginalNicaragua#IsletasdeGranada
With the next trip fast approaching, I thought it would be a good time to start sharing some photography I've been sitting on from a trip I took last year. This is the Màximo Jerez Tellería monument in León, Nicaragua, shot at dawn. Màximo earned his place in history as one of the most progressive Liberal thinkers in Nicaraguan history. He lead a movement towards Central American unity. Whether in monument form or other wise, anyone who is a proponent of unity is alright with me!
