Island Living! CRL Stone @crlstone recently collaborated with Andrew Ryan Kitchens on a new installation in its County Wexford showroom which I had the pleasure of photographing. This project showcases CRL Quartz worktop in Knightsbridge. The lighter surfaces are great for bouncing light in the room and make small spaces look bigger. A great contrast with the dark blue island.
I love how the sun rises in this corner of the house, and thankful that i've floor to ceiling windows to capture it!
Not thankful for having to clean them tho!
I've hugged the boys and kisses them that much this morning as we won't see them for 4 days... I hate flying and leaving them... but I know they'll have the best time with nana and granda!
I'm also nervous as this is our first time in Italy and I don't even know one word of Italian ... like how rude is that!!! We are also staying in an @airbnb apartment for the first time... so excited to see how that turns out!! Any tips for Rome or places to visit??
Now i'm just wondering do I finish my new pile of ironing or leave it for my mum to do when she comes to stay 😉
My love of all things green is slowly taking over the house.
Now it's the hallways turn!
It's also the only space in the house, where i haven't had the courage to put anything on the walls yet!
I'm now on the lookout for 2 mirrors and some funky wall art.... so if you've any advice where I should look, hit me up!
I did see the most beautiful @voyage_deco mirror yesterday in @alexandersdesignhouse (see stories), so I may ask santa for it, as it would match our curtains perfectly 😉 (UPDATE Santa just said no- must have been a naughty girl this year)
Just thought I'd say Hi to all the lovely new folk around my little squares!
My name is Laura, and i've been about for 36 years! (yes please do take time to be shocked).
I am a wife (16 years... I married my school sweetheart) and mama to 2 boys (10 & 12).
I'm currently at home with my boys, but you will see on stories that I also help out with our churches new outreach programme @the_yard_portadown (which opens this saturday... eeekkk).
I'm pretty new to the old instagram, but these squares represent all that I love and what I cherish in life!
We recently built our forever home (that is until the sunshine finally calls us abroad ☀️) and that's the main reason for starting this blog; to journal all things interior and DIY, but it's slowly turned into more of a lifestyle blog.
So prepare yourself for faith, food, interiors and lots of making!
I have previously blogged about my journey from depression... so if you feel you may benefit from reading my scribblings on this part of my life... please pop over to my blog.... it's hard hitting, but I know it's already resonated with so many of you.
As always, if there is anything you ever what to drop me a message about... my inbox is always open!
And say Hi below, if you're new around here 😊
So that's me in a few sentences.... Have a great Wednesday!
This baby is ready to be lit for the first time 🔥
I knew I always had to have a @charnwoodstoves when we built a house, or every single one of those @countrylivinguk magazines over 10 years would have been such a waste!!!
Looking forward to meeting up with lots of you all later at @larchfield_estate.
I find when you actually meet someone in person it's always better!
Typing behind a screen can be great, but until you've actually met with, chatted to and given a squeeze (⚠️ i might be prone to a few hugs) to someone, you are always a bit wary?? Maybe i'm wrong!
Us NI girls are a good bunch.... it's going to be a GREAT day!!
My goodness it is wintery outside today, we are using it as the perfect excuse to stay cosy indoors. I have a big pot of Irish Stew bubbling away, I'm trying out my Mums recipe for the first time and if it tastes half as good as it smells we are on to a winner. Usually I catch up on work at the breakfast bar during nap time but today I have retreated to the living room with my cosy slippers, fresh coffee and my laptop. Stay cosy you lovely lot ☔
Friday afternoons are best spent snuggling on the sofa // we are doing a little update to our living room which hasn't been touched since we moved in almost two years ago. It's amazing what a few new cushions and throws can do to change the whole feel of the room. We are still waiting for our new rug to arrive and are planning to upcycle our coffee table, plus add in a desk for me and some blinds at last but the little changes we have already made make it feel like a whole new room. 🏡
P.s. hubby and I are debating whether or not to put white wooden slatted blinds on the bay window, what do you think? He voted to not obstruct the view but I think it will really frame the window, please help you lovely people 🤔
From a photoshoot a while ago: An award-winning Parkes Interiors @parkesinteriors kitchen design that is contemporary in style and brings the kitchen, living and dining spaces together in a mixture of cool tones along with softer, ash wood finishes.
An image from a photoshoot for CRL Stone @crlstone earlier this week, featuring one of their striking quartz surfaces complementing this bespoke kitchen in Comber. I'll pop a detail shot or two on Instagram in the coming weeks for a closer look. 👀
Apologies for the silence of late - been up to my eyes!! Photographed this recently for Parkes Interiors: The beautiful New Hampshire kitchen is the latest hand painted in frame kitchen by @parkesinteriors. What we have here is a tea, coffee and drinks preparation area all concealed behind folding doors when not in use. A perfect design solution for an open plan space. Complete with a champagne chiller recessed within the island! Who doesn’t need that in their lives???
I'm waking up so thankful this morning!
Overwhelmed with the messages from both of yesterday's blogs (sorry for the overload, won't happen again!)
They couldn't have been more different from each other, and they probably shouldn't have been posted in the same day... but hey I was just responding to my heart with the second one.
I think my generation is definitely exposing depression for what a terrible illness it is, and all the stigma that's attached to it.
I believe that if everyone who suffered from a mental illness (pnd, anxiety, biopolar, depression) wore a bandage around their hands, people might see if differently... maybe i'm wrong?
As always i'm here if you need someone to talk to, because it's always better together!
Onto yesterday's other blog and i'll be typing up the lasagne recipe and sharing it later this afternoon, was going to share it now, but it would be cruel to share the pics so early in the morning!!
Enjoy the last week of the summer hols guys! Over and out 👊🏻
A HUGE HELLO, to everyone who's new to this little corner of instaland.... whether you're here for interiors, lifestyle or faith, I hope you feel like you can engage with me.... cos that's what i'm here for.... to help and to encourage.
Life can be rough sometimes.... am i right???
This little space is very soon going to be covered in text books, biro marks and half drunk mugs of tea, as i share this space with my 12 yr old son.... but i'm enjoying the last couple of weeks of it just being MINE!
I'm currently trying to hatch a plan of creating a little creative space just for ME (i'm so greedy).
Anyways have a good one folks.
ps @thegwinterwonderland you can tell your little lady i love my little candle 💕

#myhouseinaugust prompt today is LIVING ROOM.
We have a open planned living space, the TV snug which i shared a few days ago is at the other end of this room (and between both rooms are the kitchen and dining area).
I chose this chartreuse sofa from dfs, as it is the shade of many of the fields outside. It also provides the much needed colour pop as everything else within this space is so neutral.
One of the focal points in this room is our stove. We had at one stage thought we would stone the entire chimney breast, but once we were in the space (we have a vaulted ceiling in this area), I thought it would be too much...... and i'm so glad I didn't go ahead and do it.... less is more sometimes!
You'll also see we have NO TV in this space... and that's another i'm happy about! It's my peaceful space I have my morning cuppa in☕️
These beauties caught my eye in the vegetable shop yesterday....lovely home grown sweet peas!
I knew i had to have a bunch, i knew they were going to smell so sweet... did i need to smell them before i bought them.... nope.... i was confident they were going to have that sweet fragrance they always did.
I have met so many wonderful people through IG, but you do always wonder... what are they like in "real life".
I hope my little corner of insta is a true reflection of who i am, and that you won't be shocked if we ever meet!
I love stories tho, as i feel it's were people reach out a little more, it's were their heart is, and they really want you to interact with, help them out......maybe i'm wrong?
So let's be more like a bunch of sweet peas, be consistent and carry a pleasing and sweet aroma!
I really don't want to say it but... it feels a bit autumnal this evening! I've the candles lit and the light outside is golden. Hope you've all had a lovely Wednesday, the weekend is in sight, yippee!! ⭐️
This is me... just causally sitting like a numpty, on my bed, talking a selfie!
Just wanted to take 5 mins to say hi, to all the new followers who have dropped into my corner of insta over the past week (with a little help from @homeatrosecottage @makingmemoriesinthechaos, @littlemaldod & @little_green_tree)
I'm a 36yr old stay at home mum, from N-I.
I love to see the beauty in everything and everyone. I believe we are all just living this life one day at a time... and some of those days are just by the skin of our teeth! l
I also have a blog (link in bio) where i share more on our new build, faith and how there is HOPE in the midst of darkness.
I started this little instablog back in January, primarily to talk about our beautiful new home that we built and have been blessed with living in for the past year...... but it's developed into a kind of lifestyle blog too.
I share my love of making, cooking, faith and family (i've 2 boys aged 10.5 and 12 and i've been married to richard for nearly 16yrs).
I hope my little corner of insta will encourage and inspire each of you lovely peeps!
If you're new here... say hi in the comments... id love to meet you! #itsbettertogether#interiorblogger interiorblogger #niblogger#lifestyleblogger#interiorblogger#nihomes#myhome#mystyle#familylife#selfie#justsayinghi
