The Original Trading Post or J S Candelario’s Old Curio Store was established 1903 but it’s history goes back to about the 1830’s. According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, it was first a residence, then a saloon, meat market and then established as a Curio Shop/Trading Post in 1903. Following a roof cave in in the 1940’s, a considerable amount of gold was found in a wall and an archeological excavation was done (they found numerous objects from the 1800’s along with some human remains under the building🧐) This building is under historic preservation by the city and is the one original building on W San Francisco Street other than the Cathedral 😊 #326_original#365_today#simplysantafe#thecitydifferent#santafehistory#nmnomad#swdiscovered#puresw#nmtrue#purenm
Santa Fe Animal Shelter Offers Fee Waived Adoptions During Pawlidayz!
Santa Fe Animal Shelter delivers happiness to animals and humans alike with "Home for the Pawlidayz." The Santa Fe Animal Shelter has partnered with Zappos and North Shore Animal League America to bring you “Pawlidayz,” a three-day event where adoption fees will be waived!
Launching on Black Friday, November 24th at 11 a.m., and ending on Sunday, November 26th, visit SFAS, and our caring adoptions team members will help you find the perfect animal to warm your heart this holiday season. “Is there a better way to take a break from the stress of getting the perfect electronic present than to come to the shelter and find a furry friend?” says Dylan Moore, Director of Adoptions. “Our Black Friday weekend prices for sure won't be beat especially for a neutered, vaccinated and microchipped animal!” Now in its third year, the "Pawlidayz" initiative has become a beloved Zappos holiday tradition, helping thousands of animals find their forever homes by uniting them with loving families through sponsored adoptions. It's happiness doubled, as with each adoption two lives are saved: the adopter and adoptee.
Zappos has sponsored over 18,000 pet adoptions nationwide to date and aims to reach 25,000 with this year's "Home for the Pawlidayz" national campaign.
