Hey foam-pushing volunteers! Thanks for the help.
Things to know about doing this:
0.) VERY IMPORTANT: close the red plastic curtain and work directly under the large and loud room vent in the Sparkle Forge. Wear a mask (I suggest bringing your own), make sure the vent switch is turned on, and courteously tell others in the room that you will be working with a potentially hazardous substance and they may want to put a mask on themselves.
1.) Start with one of the blocks that have already been cut in half. This is about 10 by 10 by 5 inch give or take.
2.) Keep the pattern pusher straight and parallel to the backboard, keeping your right hand firmly pushing foam against it at all times.
3.) The slower the better. Even slower than I did in this video!
4.) Check the resulting inverted pattern on the foam block as you push, and make sure it doesn't get too close to the edge.
5.) Switch focus between the pusher alignment, the pusher needlehead weaving the pattern, and the resulting inverted pattern on the foam. You'll get the hang of this flow.
6.) It doesn't have to be perfect, but the more of the pattern you can fit onto the block, the better.
7.) VERY IMPORTANT LAST STEP: Switch off the machine after every single block to let the nichrome wire cool back down. Otherwise, it will snap and need to be replaced.

Last Wednesday at #noisebridgehackerspace#noisebridge#noisebridgesf .
Powering forward on an old project that will help other projects as well! I've clocked in a lot of hours hauling the high quality sound foam, helping make the hot knife foam cutter in the background, and slaying these little blocks to eventually mount in the #dorkroom , and maybe other places.
For reducing #reverb in a small room, #fractalfoam#shape should funnel in and trap a wider variety of #soundwaves than a regular zig-zag shape when mounted to a wall or towel panels. #hackit#domorenow
#dorabot#noisebridge#深圳#shenzhen Noisebridge and a group of hacker&maker came to visit Dorabot. Our CTO, Hao Zhang was excited to host the tour and see his mentor Mitch Altman again after their farewell couple of years ago. https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=AadFjJjR8yc
Today at @noisebridgehackerspace I thought I’d write a self help therapy blog about finally getting around to learning #python for reals!! There are so many great folks volunteering and teaching classes that there’s no excuse for people like me !! https://github.com/romyilano/learning_python_as_a_human_being/blob/master/README.md #hackerspace#selflearning#noisebridge#education
Told y'all I'd keep rabble-rousing! 😂 #toool#noisebridge#locksport#hackerspace They're having a fabulous tenth anniversary party over @noisebridge -- classes and demos and plenty of cookies. Ten years! ❤ (PS: I'm a safecracker. Heh.) (And now I'm at Borderlands for a reading, where some TARDIS filk broke out! It's an excellent birthday weekend.)

Week 29, 2017 — First off, thanks to everyone that reaches out. Keeps all of this worth it :) I hope it can inspire you, even just a little. Otherwise, it's all good ⭐️This week I got called a girl. The gang and I hit up Noisebridge (a San Francisco makerspace) for an intro to circuit hacking. Also checked out Oakland, got new paints, Arduino kit. Stay tuned. Keep strong. Stay immortal 🙏
What a great experience visiting #noisebridge is - I met excellent people and amazing projects, talked about anarchist ruling, tools and access, possibilities and challenges and a lots of in between. Thanks for welcoming makers and muggles with open arms ❤️🤘❤️ Noisebridge rocks!!
