Sunday October 22,2017 the lights turn "RED" in recognition October Dyslexia Awareness Month for our children! A Ceremony will be from 6-7:30 a Certificate of Recognition "Kids with Dyslexia" from the New Orleans Mayor Landrieu's Office and the inspiring Journeys of several Billy's Quest Heroes including myself will be presented to our Dyslexic Children that attend!
Also a Proclamation from Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards office & Mandeville, Louisiana Mayor Donald Villere office wil be presented to Decoding Dyslexia Louisiana chapter!
Please all are invited PLEASE come support for our Courageous dyslexic children!

Woke up in my own bed this morning in Arizona, every bone hurting.
It was 24 degrees here at night, and the ground was even colder. And although we didn't get the best sleep, my body felt great. No pain.

Estudos recentes sugerem que alongamento estático antes da musculação comprometerá a performance, havendo redução na produção de força. ➡Junior et al (2017) investigaram se 2 séries de 25” de alongamento estático (imediatamente antes) afetariam a performance de 4 séries de extensão de joelhos até a falha, durante 10 semanas. Enquanto uma perna realizava o alongamento estático a outra não realizava.
Ambos os grupos tiveram hipertrofia, mas o grupo que realizou o alongamento teve uma hipertrofia significativamente menor.
E por que isso aconteceu? Muito provavelmente porque o grupo que não realizou o alongamento teve um volume de treino maior, com 17% mais repetições. ➡Então, se o seu objetivo é aumento de força, potência e hipertrofia, o alongamento estático não parece ser uma boa opção.

➡Junior et al (2017) investigated whether 2 sets of 25" static stretching (immediately before) would affect the performance of 4 sets of leg extension to failure, over 10 weeks. While one leg performed static stretching the other did not perform.
Both groups had hypertrophy, but the group that performed the stretching had a significantly lower hypertrophy. And why did this happen? Most likely because the group that did not perform the stretching had a larger training volume, with 17% more repetitions.
➡So if your goal is to increase strength, power, and hypertrophy, static stretching does not seem like a good choice.

To better optimize the work of the chest we need to understand a little about its anatomy, mechanics and movements. ➡The pectoralis has two primary muscles, being they, the pectoralis major and the pectoralis minor. The pectoralis major is the most superficial muscle, being divided into two heads, the clavicular head (superior) and the sternal (inferior) head. The sternal head makes up about 70-80% of the entire chest, while the clavicular head makes up only about 20-30% of the chest.
